March 24, 20196 yr obvious and liberal spoilers in my commentary btw House Stark 04.0 | Ned Stark - god his whole honour thing was so DONE TO DEATH when the series started and he would have been a terrible main character had the show had him as it throughout his run. Also he basically caused so much trouble by icily following Robert as his enforcer. Characters who were against him in the rebellion (like Daenerys) do not have a good impression of him and it's right. He can have some points for raising a stable family but that's about the most he has going for him. 05.0 | Catelyn Stark - good leader but shortsighted and should have foreseen what was coming before she did. Like her husband in many ways but a bit more practical. 04.0 | Benjen Stark - too inconsequential for someone the fanbase theorised about for ages. 07.5 | Robb Stark - the worst casualty of the Red Wedding as someone who adhered to his father's ideals but using them to empower himself rather than empowering a disastrous drunk - he, and Ned, had the qualities of a good king but it was never realised. Of course, from an entertainment point of view he was also fairly boring but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't entirely gutpunched by his death because it eliminated the sanest option as the endgame. The rest of the Red Wedding I could have shrugged off, Robb dying was the one that broke me 07.0 | Talisa Maegyr - A good enough foil to Robb and an improvement from the books in that it gives Robb a real character as a wife, someone you could truly imagine ruling alongside him as a queen 10.0 | Sansa Stark - once pitiable, now, an incredible tour de force, bringing interest and political skill back to the Stark name. I've empathised with her and enjoyed watching her grow as a character so she is easily among my favourites 11.0 | Arya Stark - the other Stark daughter also very pleasingly renounced the Stark family tradition of looking grim and brooding at the entire world very early on and her story arc has been my favourite overall, as a real journey of independence and as it's so characterised by revenge, it can only end in tragedy and I'm looking forward to it. Also she's so handy with a sword. And then there's Maisie Williams who is such a personable actress, did so well from such a young age. 08.0 | Bran Stark - BETTER than the other Stark men in that he's also been on a great journey, and I do enjoy this world's deviations into magic. Would not mind him playing a heavy role in the endgame, as it's all been telegraphed fairly well. 03.0 | Rickon Stark - NO ONE 06.0 | Jon Snow - He's okay but just... ugh. There's too many serious men in the Stark family. Better sense of his ideals than the others which is why he's alive this long I suppose but then they also got him killed once so swings and roundabouts. House Lannister 10.0 | Tywin Lannister - should have been a king, excellent judgement in nearly all things and it's unfortunate that his one mistake was underestimating his son to be just as ruthless as him. 09.0 | Cersei Lannister - at times excellent and her crowning glory at the end of Season 6 is a testament to her resilience but her methods are on the whole a little TOO lacking in finesse, it's not quite the same as when Tywin was in charge 08.0 | Jaime Lannister 10.0 | Tyrion Lannister - what is there to say about one of the best protagonists in the story, aside from the fact that you are with him and his schemes and his hatred of his family 03.0 | Kevan Lannister - Actually in the books he's a good contrast to Cersei's madness but Lannisters aren't supposed to be sensible, reasonable people unless they're dwarfs, or it gets dull 02.0 | Lancel Lannister House Baratheon 00.0 | Robert Baratheon - The Usurper caused everything! I stand with House Targaryen! 10.0 | Joffrey Baratheon - what a lovely slice of evilness. Excellently portrayed and always entirely hateable 06.0 | Myrcella Baratheon 03.0 | Tommen Baratheon 08.0 | Stannis Baratheon - You don't kill Shireen and get away with a score more than an 8 even if I do think you'd have been the best king after Robb, a ruler who could make tough decisions and always knew how to correct others' grammar 05.0 | Selyse Baratheon 08.0 | Shireen Baratheon - 3 03.0 | Renly Baratheon - gay love notwithstanding he was very unentertaining and I barely recall any scenes he did for the show besides his death House Targaryen 10.0 | Daenerys Targaryen - it is rare that I have so many protagonists I really love and want to root for and Dany is the last piece that makes that complete what with being mother of dragons and all 06.0 | Viserys Targaryen - pretty good obvious villain even if it was a bit anime villain, at least he got his deserved comeuppance House Tyrell 08.0 | Margaery Tyrell 06.0 | Loras Tyrell 10.0 | Olenna Tyrell - Poor Olenna, built with acerbic wit and always entertaining on the screen, I was really sad when her time came to an end, particularly in such despair as her oh so nice family had all been murdered 08.0 | Mace Tyrell House Greyjoy 06.0 | Theon Greyjoy - I respect this man, I don't think I could still be standing after what he's been through. March 24, 20196 yr House Martell could have been so much better had they not focused so much on the Sand Snake angle. In fact aside from Oberyn there are no 'real' Martells in that list. This rate hasn't even included the head of the Martell household which is fair enough, it just shows how sidelined Doran was in the show, he's pretty darn clever and significant in the books. And then to not have Arianne and Quentyn, his daughter and son, who both have huge roles, the former in turning the house against the Lannisters, the latter in showing through one small minor journey just how powerful Daenerys' reach has become that she's attracting suitors from halfway across the world. And then later he also gets to show the reading audience how powerful the dragons are. :kink: And Trystane but seriously who cares about Trystane.

My favourite characters are - Tyrion Lannister - Daenerys Targaryen - Robb Stark (just because he is so effing hot) - Cersei Lannister (SHAME) - she is flipping amazing the show wouldn't be the same without her!
July 30, 20195 yr Since this was never posted I decided to give myself permission to compile the points and post the results even if there were only 7 voters here and despite this not being started by myself lol. I sort of wish we'd rated after season 8 as some of my points would have been different but then again I'm happy to pretend S8 never happened. Here's the first batch: 88. Olly (3.00) In absolute last place is Olly because F**K OLLY that's why. This kid killed both Ygritte AND dealt the final blow to Jon Snow when he died originally. I have never been so happy to see a kid die on a TV show. 87. Lancel Lannister (3.21) Another agreeable elimination as Lancel is the religious nut who landed both Cersei and the Tyrell siblings in jail in S6 (which in the end led to their death but that's not solely Lancel's fault). He was of course originally known as Cersei's rebound despite being her cousin but lbr that was never gonna stop her since she was after all rebounding from her brother lol. 86. Rickon Stark (3.36) This one is a little surprising. I know Rickon was useless and all but third-to-last? We still have pedophiles, mass-murderers and The High Sparrow on the list you know? 85. Tommen Baratheon (3.64) Ok at least Rickon was useless but Tommen fourth-to-last?? HE GAVE US SER POUNCE HOW DARE YOU. Also his suicide scene is iconic and very important in the grand scheme. Also he was probably the nicest Baratheon (along with his sister) and just rrreally wanted to please both his queen and his mom but unfortunately they were rarely on the same page. 84. Meryn Trant (3.71) A disgusting pedophile and killer of Syrio Forel. His death is one of the most satisfying deaths because Arya is using her faceless training to trick him into thinking he's about to scar some poor your girl for life but instead he gets stabbed by the pointy end. 83. The Waif (3.79) How does she manage to be this annoying her entire time on the show? I was kind of tired of her quickly but she was interesting to begin with. I never really understood her character and often wonder if she was really juts Jaqen H'ghar with some rando's face to help train Arya? Idk. NEXT. 82. Kevan Lannister (3.83) I'll be honest I don't remember him on the show and for someone who is Tywin's brother and appears in four seasons he's quite forgettable. He was additionally killed by his cousin Cersei when she blows up the Sept of Baelor. Cool. 81. Janos Slynt (3.92) Another forgettable character who appeared on many seasons. I mean you have to stand out to be memorable on such a huge cast but Janos was the commander of the City Watch in King's Landing and was eventually beheaded by Jon Snow in season 5 but if he did anything more important y'all don't seem to care either dropping him in 81st place.
August 1, 20195 yr Imgur is being a b*tch so I there will be no images here although I might edit them in later. 80. Olyvar (4.00) [5 x 1] The brothel owner. Quite a side character and not sure why he's included over many others but I guess his scenes with Renly and Oberyn were hot. 79. Selyse Baratheon (4.00) [5 x 3] The idiot mother of Shireen and wife of Stannis who allowed Melisandre to f**k up her character arc murder her in order to please the lord of light. Tara Fitzgerald did a great job at portraying this maniac and the moment she snaps out of her lunacy and realises her daughter is burning at the stake is actually quite heartbreaking despite her having been totally into it until that point. 78. Obara Sand (4.21) [Highest: 5] One of the three Sand snakes, i.e. Oberyn and Ellaria's bast*rd daughters. Obara is wasted on played by Keisha Castle-Hughes who does a decent job with the mess she's handed but lbr nobody liked the sand snakes or their story lines because D&D decided Dorne wasn't worth putting more effort and time into fleshing out so they just became these KILL-KILL-KILL type robots with no real purpose. 77. Myrcella Baratheon (4.21) [Highest: 6] I would not have expected Joffrey to be the highest placing out of Cersei and Jamie's bast*rd incest kids but then again I guess Myrcella and Tommen were kind of unimportant to the plot and I underestimated how much people loved to hate Joffrey. Myrcella was only there for a short while after she actually started having any lines but then she got killed by Ellaria because revenge I think? 76. Nymeria Sand (4.36) [Highest: 5.5] Another sand snake. This one has the same name as Arya's direwolf and for that reason I personally gave her a higher score than Obara but again she's a very wasted character who just wants to murder people for no reason. 75. Euron Greyjoy (4.36) [Highest: 8] I personally would have put Euron in the very last place because while I appreciate the idea behind Euron I feel like he was executed HORRIBLY. He's just a comically laughable disney villain that does not fit within the GOT universe. He gets hardly any backstory and is able to transport between places when it fits him. He's incredibly good at shooting Scorpions and killing dragons in one shot on moving ships which is just ridiculous and his whole character arc is just being a douche because he is a douche. "I am the man who killed Jamie Lannister" like why would you even say that? He was killed by falling rocks you idiot. Plus points though for the actor having once been a Eurovision host lol. 74. Lysa Arryn (4.43) [Highest: 6] Another OTT crazy lady who is portrayed masterfully by Kate Dickie and really she does feel like she is seriously mentally ill. I have always failed to see any likeness between Catelyn and her but I guess maybe after she lost her mind and stopped taking actual care of herself she changed a bit. Lysa is of course the mother of glow-up kind Robin Arryn who eventually gets whoops pushed out the Moon Door by her lover Peter Baelish lol. 73. Qyburn (4.43) [Highest: 7] Underrated Dr Frankenstein of Westeros does not deserve to be so low. One of the FEW actually good deaths of S8 was when The Mountain just kind of punched him out of the way to his death and it was so quick and unexpected lmao. I liked Qyburn just being able to get out all his crazy ideas under Cersei's command but I wish we'd seen more of their dynamic in S8 but lol we all know how that went. 72. Robert Baratheon (4.43) [Highest: 8.5] The king of the memes. If you've ever been to r/freefolk you'll notice he's sort of a mascot there and there's literally a thousand memes featuring his handful of quotes on the show (given he was only on for like 6 episodes or so in the first season lmao) but let's be real: GODS I WAS STRONG THEN. 71. Yohn Royce (4.50) I'll be honest I don't remember a single thing this dude did on the show but I guess he was Robin Arryn's squire or something and even managed to survive the entire series so yay for Yohn I guess.
