March 29, 20196 yr I take it this is a Steve Mac production? I bet he loved dusting off the 'year 2000 production tools' box? We haven't heard strings and a key change like that since the days that the various offshoots of Cheiron ruled pop music. The more I listen to this track, the more it takes me back to being 13 and hearing a new Westlife song on TV/radio for the first time, finding it instantly memorable if predictable, and knowing it would be another No.1 for them. I think top 20 would be an achievement for them with this, as times have moved on so much. But then Ed's Perfect might as well have been a Westlife song, so who knows!? The orchestral version is quite nice, I must add.

March 29, 20196 yr Has this any chance of our peaking Hello My Love. It at the least should become another Top 20 hit for them in the incoming chart week.
March 29, 20196 yr I really liked hello my love but I’m not feeling this. It’s pretty average, nothing exciting at all.

March 31, 20196 yr Amazing! And they do not have a choir back up this time compared to before if you guys noticed. Up to #2 on itunes. Even though it might not hold that long, who would have thought that this kind of ballad can move upward in a chart in 2019? Itunes update on its recent post about it above Spotify: #104 Vietnam #124 Taiwan #181 Malaysia Edited March 31, 20196 yr by myxxd
March 31, 20196 yr its a decent song... It deserves more though.. it is not looking to be a commercial success... I hope that doesn't spoil the enthusiasm... This time around Westlife get a positive vibe of acceptance from the general public more than when they were at the top, 15-20 years ago..
March 31, 20196 yr Hello My Love picked up steam after a few days, hopefully Better Man does too. Although I don’t think Better Man will have the run Hello My Love did.
March 31, 20196 yr Out in the top 200 spotify uk update. Hope it will come back and people will realise how hard it is for an old act like them to break in the streaming and how successful Hello My Love was in the UK charts and comparing the streaming era to the physical and even the downloads era are totally not right. Fans who wanted to push for the 2000s ballad sounding music as their comeback single before Hello my love was out doesn't have any idea how the charts work now. I guess the lads know that is why there is an orchestral version. Edited March 31, 20196 yr by myxxd
March 31, 20196 yr Author I just knew it this wouldn’t be a good choice for the single. They should have left these types of songs for the album. I mean, I didn’t see particularity bad reaction - everyone says it is either good or decent and that HML was a better choice. Plus, this isn’t Westlife 2.0 like they promised, this is a typical WL ballad that could fit on any previous album. Don’t get me wrong, I like this song - it sure beats Lighthouse - but its just not right for the charts. Hope it will pick up eventually but I am not bolding my breath.
