Both of these pop divas recently covered this French love song classic, but which version do you prefer?

 

Madonna covered the song as part of her latest world tour: Rebel Heart Tour. The version is stripped back, simplistic, includes audience participation and pays real tribute to the tenderness of the song.

 

 

Lady Gaga covered the song as Ally in A Star is Born. The version is included on the soundtrack and it features the first full vocal performance of the film. A seductive, alluring performance with soaring vocals and intense passion.

 

 

Discuss both versions. Which do you prefer?

Gaga's for me quite easily. Madonna's is cute and I love her passion for the song but the scene in ASIB is the first real look-in we get of Ally and her version is beautiful.

I'm going Madonna. Both versions are great but I feel Madonna's strikes the tone better. As you say Bal, it really captures the tenderness of the song and you can really feel Madonna's love for the song.
