Navid looks like you are more optimistic about this album than you were few weeks ago..

@Charis: Honestly my perception of this album not changed that much. I have a big problem with a lot of members here calling electronic-based music as a one and only modern

genre which is completely wrong. I think they could be more progressive like Where We Are album and the most modern album for me was that album.

But in case of album as a whole I should confess with giving it another chance with couple listening I think I really like One Last Time and it is a very good and lovely song with great

solo guitar and powerful voice by Mark and to some extent Shane. I think beside Without You which I loved the most since first listen I love this track more than any track in this

album and really hope that they releasing it as a single and I'm sure with a good promotion it will be a very radio friendly and also attention seeker for non-Westlifers.

And if they want to release electronic-based music single I think Dance is the best choice. I gave this album a couple of listening and think Dance is given them the best shot for

success. I'm sure this one is very good choice for today's market. So if I was the decision maker I would released this songs in succession untill the new tour:

1- Dance, 2- One Last Time, 3- Without You.

Dance had its first public radio airplay in Ireland. Another Life on BBC Manc

I agree with Navid's single choices but I think Take Me There is another song that could bring them success.

I don't think electronic based music is the only modern route to go but we can't deny HML was a solid hit that even non-Westlife fans enjoyed. So this obviously works and I don't think it is a crime if they want to make this type of music.

that would be interesting, but many would be left out as well... Anyway, any idea where are westlife in the thu midweek?

What is their number in the albums chart now? #11?

This #1 in Ireland and #8 in the UK in the chart reminds me of Hello My Love's first week performance.

Actually it is still possible for them to get more #1 in the singles chart. How? post the pre-order link of the new single in advance and release it in the least competitive week lol if we will analyse how Spectrum did

i am secretly hoping it was higher, and it should be since it's a hot album and its december...

Back in the day they used to be Top 3 for months...

I really think they lost the momentum when they didn't release the album when the hype was huge. I realize they barely started to record the album but I'm sure it would have had a much bigger impact if it had been released then.

not necessarily.... No artist has any longevity in the album chart..

Don't look on the singles chart. All is about streaming and being on certain playlists.... Who would be out a music shop buying Dance Monkey single now? No one, it is at the #1 though..

The album is a success anyway - of course it won't sell anywhere near their latter releases but ok.. they didnt have a #1 for 12 years - maybe this year they used a strategy to get it but it's still good.

‘No artist has any longevity in the album chart’

There are many many examples in 2019 of artists have quite the opposite - Lewis Capaldi, Ed Sheeran, Billie Eilish, Tom Walker, Post Malone, Liam Gallagher, Mabel, Sam Fender...

Westlife are very much appealing to their fan base only now rather than the general public... I doubt the album will last much longer than January/February in the charts.

No idk what number they are in last night

It may not had the big first week numbers if they released the album quickly. I think they are right to release it two weeks ago in time for the Xmas season

Anyway I can't fill out that top ten list I have like a top 200 like I said before lol

That is why they need an exclusive for streaming EP on April with a double lead single, next single from Spectrum on February, DVD Blu-ray live album of the twenty tour film on March. New single pre-order link should be up on January

do artists have pre-ordering for singles / songs? if they didn't do it with Hello My Love i doubt they will now, especially for a song on the album which was released already.

lewis ed sheran billie are mostly based on streaming.

Probably at #10 in the midweeks...

I personally thought Westlife would have been top 3 right until Xmas.

Not really. They were down on downloads #13 and streaming #54 since last week so it's a miracle they are still at the top 10 and can compete with those album artists that have strong following over the years. Probably the ones who are buying are the old ones going pass by the record shops

They'll be at Macau on Dec 8 for the Tencent Music Awards

Dec 29 RTE will broadcast their Twenty Tour

Idk maybe they'll be the first one that will probably do that lol if they are that "desperate" to get a top five or one again. Aside from that, they need to check if the number one single will be on ACR the following week and they need to talk to their connections in other record labels

But given many more people are in the shops in November and December I thought streaming would have less of an influence.

Also they are not a new artist, or the album is not a Christmas album, a great hits compilation album, a cover album with a cover single like they used to, not a brit, doesn't have a 40 year career, or a strong social media presence and followers, and their aonly appearance this week is a brief interview on radio 2. On Saturday, they'll be at the big show. All odds are not in their favour and yet they're at #10 on its 3rd week
