He was indeed, he's had a couple of features on hits but he hasn't charted as a lead artist before.

Ed's underperformance with new songs is so bizarre, yet his albums are all charting for 167568727671708670th week each.

I don't think it's surprising it *only* debuted at no 8, it's quite different from his other songs and Chance and PnB Rock aren't big names, if anything they might put his fans off.
