Posted May 15, 20196 yr New single from Katy Perry called "Never Really Over", which was released on May 31.
May 17, 20196 yr Been reading about this over social media... I'm glad she isn't taking such a long break from music as I expected! Looking forward to the new era
May 19, 20196 yr Author Apparently it's called Never Really Over. That's true. http://neverreallyover.online/ It seems that the above link is going to be the first view of Katy's official site, which will replace the current one soon. The countdown ends on May 31 at midnight CDT. ETA: It looks like that website is fake. Sorry guys.
May 19, 20196 yr I know you can’t really tell the performance of a song based upon the hype but I just don’t see much hype and if this bombs it could legit turn into a worse era than witness in terms of sales and song peaks.
May 19, 20196 yr Interesting - hopefully better than witness material with the exception of chained to the rhythm.
May 24, 20196 yr Is it actually a lead single from a new era? That almost came as a bolt out of the blue if so, I didn't know she was actively working on new music.

May 26, 20196 yr Author The information below was revealed by two different insiders. • Written by Dagny Norvoll Sandvik, Dan Haywood, Gino Barletta, Harley Warner, Jason Gill, Katheryn Hudson and Michelle Buzz and it was produced by Zedd and Dreamlab. I assume Zedd (Anton Zaslavski) and Dreamlab (Daniel James and Leah Haywood) also have writing credits. The length is 3:44. • Described as a pop hit, which begins slowly and it explodes later (I guess when the chorus begins). It doesn't have any latin influences, it's not a midtempo and it's 100% enjoyable.
May 27, 20196 yr Author The Spanish insider said that Katy has a "Medellín" look (in reference of Madonna's single) in the music video, so it seems that it was already shot. Also, the song is more uptempo and commercial than her previous album Witness and it's very 2011 in a good sense. It has a very classical structure with the first stripped verse, but it goes high when the chorus begins. As a side note, this source also said that it's marked as the WW track of the week, so I expect Capitol to push harder the song (most likely in Spotify key playlists?) because there's confidence in the song.
May 28, 20196 yr Author Few more details from Olly, who confirmed that the music video was already shot. The video is done, I believe the plan is to premiere the video on 30th too, there will be an alternative ending video and lyrics video premiered early next week. Spotify vertical video will arrive late next week.
