Posted November 8, 200618 yr X Factor single release date confirmed Source: Music Week The single from the eventual X factor winner will be released on Wednesday December 20. This follows the climax to the TV show on Saturday December 18 and is a similar strategy to last year, when Shayne Ward’s That’s My Goal was released on Wednesday December 21. That single topped the Christmas chart, after selling 313,000 copies on the day of release, and the new X factor singles is favourite with bookmakers William Hill to do the same. =========================================================== Here we go again
November 8, 200618 yr Here's hoping something MASSIVE comes out to beat the c**p. Then again it'd take a pretty big song to stop it, if it's as big as Shayne :(
November 8, 200618 yr Here's hoping something MASSIVE comes out to beat the c**p. Then again it'd take a pretty big song to stop it, if it's as big as Shayne :( I have the awful feeling that we will indeed yet again see an X Factor Christmas #1. Its almost depressing.
November 8, 200618 yr There is going to be a decent X Factor winner this year as opposed to the dross of the last 3 years Having said that the ****ing McDonald Brothers will probably win
November 8, 200618 yr I had a vision that if the Spice Girls released a comeback it would trounce X Factor  Well as much as I find 'Crazy' equally as annoying - I hope X Factor doesn't sell more than that which tbh I dont think it will I'd put my money on 400,000ish first week.

November 8, 200618 yr Well it's almost without saying that it will make number 1. I don't really like any of the finalists. Eton Road are ok.
November 8, 200618 yr Well I don't mind if they actually release a decent song this time, but that shayne ward song was awful. They tend to release crappy cover versions.
November 8, 200618 yr I'm ecstatic about this.http://www.sheknows.com/graphics/emoticons/whoopdedoo.gif
November 8, 200618 yr Can't we persuade OCC to add a rule that any reality show single released within 2 weeks of Christamas is NCQ
November 8, 200618 yr They should do an amazing debut single like Girls Aloud...not a Westlife reject song...
November 8, 200618 yr Author The winner should do a cover of Mariah's Xmas song "All I Want for Christmas is you"
November 8, 200618 yr Good idea :) I wouldn't mind them being Chritsmas #1 if they have half-decent songs. Sound of the Underground was fantastic :) Certainly a better idea to have the songs due for single release to be appropriate to each of the final acts -rather than having to find something so bland that they can all record the same.
November 8, 200618 yr The winner should do a cover of Mariah's Xmas song "All I Want for Christmas is you" Well if Leona wins she probably will. :P Afterall she warbles in all the right places. Edited November 8, 200618 yr by truly talented
November 8, 200618 yr Are there any big acts releasing this christmas at all? Seems as though everyone's given up already.
November 8, 200618 yr I just thank God for Sound of the Underground...If GA's dire rendition of Sacred Trust is anything to go by then if they had released that their career would be long over...
November 8, 200618 yr Author Are there any big acts releasing this christmas at all? Seems as though everyone's given up already. Actually just looked at the release shedule for the Xmas week, hardly any Xmas tracks around, apart from the usual suspects Slade, Pogues, Jona Lewie, etc creeping back up on downloads. It be funny seeing Slade in the chart every year now at Xmas from next year, every Xmas people will download it
November 8, 200618 yr Although I'd prefer an Xmas cover like Mariah's AIWFCIY, I think that there's about 0% chance of that happening. Why? Well ITV/Granada/Cowell would like an original track so they can cream off more revenue from royalties from the huge sales that the single would generate on top off all the text/phone votes. I don't think writing a cheque out for several hundred thousand pounds to the writer of All I Want for Christmas is You is in their minds at all.
