I think it was unrealistic to expect Posty to debut at #1 even on Spotify, considering his past debuts:

It does but why should he suddenly be expected to debut at #1 all of a sudden when even the immediate predecessor to his huge global #1 hit (and one of the most streamed songs of all time) didn't? #9 is a very strong debut and his first top 10 debut since his album came out, absolutely nothing to be sniffed at. Let's not pretend a #1 debut is the only thing acceptable for an artist that has never had a #1 debut lol

HOW exactly is a new Ed and Bruno collaboration languishing at 133 three days after release?

 

I thought the public were eager for anything Ed releases? And based on name power alone I'd have expected this to be one of the biggest draws from the album.

 

I'm sure it will climb massively once it has a 'home' on the album next week but I'd have expected this to be at least top 20 on Spotify very easily. Looks like it would barely chart even without the three-track rule in place, which is absolutely shocking considering he took his entire album into the top 20 two years ago.

Because the song doesn't sound at all like what people want from Ed Sheeran, I guess. And he has other songs still riding high. But I'm surprised it is that low.

 

This album won't do half as well as Divide and I'm sure Ed knew this when he was recording it too.

The power of Ed Sheeran doesn't overpower the fact that rock songs cannot ever do well :magic:
