She was going to release her 3rd album and left outside alone in the USA to try and crack it, and 5 days before her appearance on opera she cancelled everything, Anastacia isn't greedy ;)

He has sold nearly a million albums there with hardly any promo. ^_^

Of course Anastacia´s albums are better to stuck in the shelves, and Dido´s are to fly from there to consumers house. I bought Ana´s 1st album, it was on sale... Great 2 singles... Not That Kind and I´m Outta Love... The album had 2 other decent tracks IMO, Cowboys and Kisses and Who´s Gonna Stop The Rain... the rest: fillers, $h!t, and more fillers. A great voice, but unfortunately lacks songwriting talent and has to depend heavily on producers. It makes me laugh when an Anastacia fan says Dido is boring, when Ana had songs like "I Ask Of You" which was total Whitney Houston-ish c**p, that even my 70 years old gramma would find incredibly boring. I liked other Anastacia songs later... Sick & Tired was great... But Left Outside Alone was WAY to repetitive and comercial c**p, that gets anoyng after 5 listens. I wouldn´t buy her albums anymore - rather download the good songs and not pay for the fillers.

Well that's your opinion but Robbie has never spent more than a few weeks at a time promoting there, James Blunt broke the states within a couple of months. Robbie has never had a proper go at breaking the states in reality no matter how you look at it or how the ignorant British press make out.

On his first attemt at cracking the states he released 'The Ego Has Landed' which was quite succesful. It was said to have sold 596,000 a while back and would've definatly passed 600,000 by now. But then he thought he'd leave it till another time and moved on. Then tried again with Escapology, which he did some promo for and yes it did flop. It has'nt even sold 200k in the US to date, the same goes for Sing When You're Winning.

 

Both IC and Rudebox made the top 10 on the US I-tunes and also #7 in Canadian itunes so he clearly has a fanbase over there. Rudebox is also #1 on the US Cd-wow, which I am shocked at myself :huh: Escapology went platinum in Canada apperently, so I have no idea why he did'nt tour over there :wacko:

 

Oh and not in a million years would Robbie have asked Xtina to do a duet. That would've just been the Sun or Mirror making up $h!te which I certainly would'nt beleive if I were you.

 

But honestly, although deep down, he probebly likes the idea of being huge over there, cause it would mean his albums would sell 10 million + but I honestly believe that he preferes being relatively unknow there simply because he is'nt constantly hassled by the press which is exactly why he lives in L.A.

When Anastacia's RECORD COMPANY made the desicion that she was going to crack america, she was lined up on 5 of america's biggest tv shows. 5 Days before her first tv show appearance, Oprah, Anastacia CANCELLED IT and her manager walked out on her because anastacia herself didn't want to try and crack america, it was her manager who did.

So it wasnt the show that cancelled Anastacia :rolleyes:

Not That Kind was released in 2000, and what was going on at the time? Pop, Fillers, Dance songs etc. I can only name about 5/6 filler songs on the album. I Ask Of You, it's not Whitney Houston c**p, it's just because Anastacia has power in her voice.

Left Outside Alone is a brilliant track, just overplayed, maybe thats why you are annoyed, and whats wrong with it being commercial, thats a good thing. Lack of Songwriting Talent? You obviously havn't listened to her 3rd album, it's a brilliant album, vocally and lyricly.

Of course her 3rd album has much songwriting talent *cough* Glen Ballard *cough*.

 

To me 5/6 fillers in one album is already TOO MUCH! I am happy for her getting what she wants as not being sucessful in USA. (Although I do think it would be great if she was sucessful there cause she is better then usual american urban music).

 

As for Robbie, nobody who likes him has the right to call any other artist boring... he built his career of bland ballads and came from a boyband that was almost like Weslife. I´de rather listen to good Dido music then boring entertainers.

And if you are going to slag him off, at least do it in a constructive way. Anyone who would call him boring clearly have'nt heard his latest album. It is anything but boring. Also all his previous albums have contained various different types of songs, from rock to up-tempo pop to ballads and now rap and electro pop. So to call him boring while a Dido album just all sounds the same is beyond me.

 

And to say he has made a carear of bland ballads is laughable to say the least considering 20 out of his 27 singles are'nt even ballads :rolleyes: It's like you are decribing a totally different person :wacko:

 

Oh and another thing which I find ridiculous is saying TT were like Westlife :lol: Have you not seen any clips of TT performing :unsure: Their stage shows were anything but boring. I am certainly by no means a TT fan but everyone knows that they are the complete opposite type of boyband to Westlife. Westlife just sit on stools whilst churing out endless bland covers of old ballads, whilst TT actually wrote their songs which are classic pop songs, and certainly were'nt all ballads.They also put on amazing performances with great dancing etc. Not sure that they will be like now though. ;)
