September 1, 20195 yr ^^ 😐😐 --- New label might help and getting her name out there on collaborations etc.. could relift her profile a bit too. I don't think it's out of the realms of possibilityfor her to get another hit, she just needs a label that doesn't f*** around as much.
September 1, 20195 yr Unfortunately I think she’ll struggle to get another solo hit also. I think during her first era there was demand for her as a solo female pop artist in the UK, but now we have people like Dua Lipa, Anne-Marie and Mabel who are filling that role at the moment. Also her last few songs just haven’t held up to her first era in my opinion. I’ve liked them but don’t think they’re been anything special.
September 2, 20195 yr Maybe Zedd could work? But then it didn't work for Katy. Maybe Martin Garrix, Jax Jones/Europa, Sigala or a new Clean Bandit track. M-22 could work. Calvin Harris would be the ultimate dream I guess.
September 2, 20195 yr I can easily see her having a hit again as a feature on someone else's track (like the general consensus seems to be), but aside from that I feel like her current campaign is dead in the water really.
September 2, 20195 yr She’s been dropped by her label Record labels are so incredibly fickle it's frustrating. How are artists supposed to develop, sustain and experiment if they are dropped at the slightest hint of underperforming? Where would the likes of Madonna be if they were dropped at their first underperformance? She could still be making the label money through touring, merchandise etc - it's not just through hit singles! Artists that persist with making albums even without huge hits are the ones that gain respect and followings over time. It's why news of Katy Perry not releasing an album unless there's a demand for it is so deflating and annoying to see.
