October 30, 20195 yr Author I just really don't understand this move at all. It gives Bojo two massive victories, brexshit general election plus when students are moving for hols AND CAN'T VOTE!!! You're conceding the GE already?
October 30, 20195 yr It's just strange to give in to Bojo with a winter election plus 12th december plus no votes for 16/17. It hands him three victories and makes it jarder for Labour. This comes a day after Corbyn refusing an identical election. Any ideas why?? You have to admit that this is very strange.

They didn't even push for votes for 16 and 17 y/os. Makes no sense at all. Corbyn wants to be PM so maybe he thinks here's his chance.
October 30, 20195 yr Not it hasn't. Thankfully. They're not mature enough to vote. I know 16 year olds who are a lot more mature and worldly than you.

One theory is that he had little choice once every other opposition party was supporting an election. However valid his reasons for not wanting a December election, they became harder to defend once Labour had become a lone voice.
October 30, 20195 yr Perhaps he has some health issues he's concealing, so this may be his best chance? So you are working for the Daily Mail then.
October 30, 20195 yr Huh? Speculating about, for example, a health scare without a shred of evidence is typical Daily Mail territory.
October 30, 20195 yr Author Speculating about, for example, a health scare without a shred of evidence is typical Daily Mail territory. Excuse me?! Michael asked for a possible explanation for Corbyn's apparent GE u-turn, so I offered what I thought might be a reasonable one, given his age.
October 30, 20195 yr No, as what's the difference of a few months? This election is gonna ruin Christmas. Why can't we have it after like normal countries? f*** bojo the clown!!!

October 30, 20195 yr Author How will it ruin Christmas? It's 13 days before Christmas. Perhaps he means it'll ruin Xmas for him, if the Tories get their expected win...
November 2, 20195 yr No. As in, I will be enjoying the Christmas period and a f***ing election in the middle of it ruins it. I won't be arguing with yiu much, sealion, over December, sorry. I still think Corbyn has messed up here. An election in December ON A DAY WHEN UNI STUDENTS ARE TRAVELLING HOME AND CAN'T VOTE, a dark, cold day, snow in Scotland, maybe the north east, no votes for 16 and up, not letting Bojo mess brexshit up even more, is just handing Bojo the Clown a handful of victories. One day he said no election only to u turn the next. Hmm. Not very tactical.
November 2, 20195 yr I know 16 year olds who are a lot more mature and worldly than you. I very much doubt that considering I've been a voting adult for 41 years.

November 2, 20195 yr I very much doubt that considering I've been a voting adult for 41 years. How would you know? Being older than somebody doesn't automatically mean that your character and personality is more mature than someone who is younger. Older people are still capable of being irresponsible, selfish etc. When I read your messages on this forum initially, the impression I got was that you were still in school. I think 16/17 year olds should have the vote, but it's a massivr descision which needs proper debate and thought and not enough time to push through such a big change imo.
November 2, 20195 yr Author So are you conceding that Boris will win then? :o By the way, 12th December isn't quite Christmas despite what the shops may tell you. If you go by the shops, you'd think Xmas was late September...
