I think their strategy was simply to rely on the X-Factor performance boosting it, for which 'Aphrodite' could have made for a more eventful and exciting performance anyway.

Kylie didn't mention that the single was actually out and available to purchase when she performed it.

 

As much as I love better than today the way it was handled was so frustrating.while the reception was lukewarm to the single it could have went top 25 with a better release strategy.
