Pete's Chart Commentary

As Christmas draws nearer the charts get staler, with a non-moving Top 3 and a song re-entering the Top 10 after 3 weeks outside of it. We do finally have some more female representation in the Top 10 though as Kelsea Ballerini and AURORA both climb in. Below that our two highest new entries are form the John Lewis Christmas ad and The Apprentice respectively, and at #39 we have our first proper Christmas entry which is - of course - by the amazing Lukas Graham. Expect that to be contending for #1 next week. Lots of other new songs in the lower realms as usual but I need to do some revision so I'll let you look at them.

Nice to see "Hallelujah" get a huge gain, I also like the debuts for "Can't Fight This Feeling" and "Another Place".

And below the top 40, the debuts for "Pump It Up" and "Lazy Day" are great too!

Great to see two new entries for Bastille, both fantastic songs. I'm really enjoying their current era but it's a shame their return to form can't translate to big chart hits again. At least CFTF went Top 40 though so at least that's something :)

 

The Keane single is pretty good too.
