Pete's Chart Commentary

It's Christmas Takeover week! But not as takeover-y as last year as not as many artists released Christmas songs, meaning I ended up trawling the Billboard Christian Chart to find songs to make it somewhat reasonable. In the Top 40 are songs from The Afters, We Are Messengers, Alessia Cara and a cover of Driving Home For Christmas by Gavin James. The original re-enters the lower end of the chart, alongside a selection of festive new and re-entries.

Big jump for Sam Feldt there and Lukas stays on top, two Christmas songs I have played this year. Good to see Bastille enter the top 10 too!

great to see Sam Feldt jump into the top 2, although I suppose it never had a chance against Lukas Graham here. haven't heard of your other new Christmas top 40 arrivals but yay for Mabel and Ellie making it in lower down.

and Boney M and Chris Rea getting new peaks too, both have charted much higher on mine although I tend to re-chart more Christmas classics than most here.

Good to see Bastille in the Top 10, such a great version :D

 

The Sigma/Savoretii song is pretty good, shame it hasn't been a big hit. Has it even been properly pushed?
