I’m delighted this has reached no1 and I just hope this gives the impetus to release a new album next year as she clearly is still popular and could be successful albums wise again!
No :( The original was way better, and now Ellie's version will now be the go to version you will hear on the radio in the future. I guess Joni's version was largely forgotten though sadly, hence the Ellie cover.

Yeaah no. Mariah is the most consumed song of the week. Alexa SPAMMED River like crazy. I had to skip it like at lrast 5 times every hour, and I didn't always get to skip/ skip in time! The OCC played down mariah's vid streams to gift Alexa spam rhe no.1. It is fake.

And yet the figures still don't add up and they have her as 19 instead of 1, and Ellie thanks to Aleza was spammed up to 11. Mariah was 1 pre ACR. Btw, acr was introduced to stop Mariah. No one else.
