Going just by films I saw in 2019 (some of these are technically 2018 but they weren't released in the UK until 2019 so I'm counting them), I think these would be a top 10:

01. Doctor Sleep

02. Midsommar

03. Eighth Grade

04. Roma

05. The Nightingale

06. Joker

07. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

08. Us

09. The Irishman

10. Avengers: Endgame

The Nightingale is probably the most disturbing film I've seen in a long time, but it's so so good, from the same director as The Babadook.

I'll need to have a think about my top films of the decade, but I'll come back to this!

1. Spider-Man: Far From Home

2. The Avengers: Endgame

3. Joker

4. Klaus

5. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood

Honorable mentions: Us, Shazam, Captain Marvel, Toy Story 4

Your number 1 *.* I hated The Favourite </3 Thought it was incredibly boring and just not my thing at all. The performances WERE fantastic though and I can't begrudge Olivia winning (especially as her speech has given me one of my favourite moments from the last Decade ) I still need to see On The Basis Of Sex, just can't be bothered on getting around to it :( Knives Out should be higher. I also really liked Rocketman, so I'm saddened to see it in your bottom 5 </3

Everything else in your top 20 I think I liked, at least so YAY! :D

@Chez, I've never even heard of Nightingale! I'm intrigued by your description of it though :o

Did you not like Endgame??? I went to see it 4 times in the cinema!

On The Basis of Sex was surprisingly good actually - I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did.

Here's the thing with Rocketman... I absolutely loved Bohemian Rhapsody and I was hoping Rocketman would be similar, but I just found it nonsensical. With musical films, I hate it when songs are shoe-horned in and that's exactly what it felt like to me.

I assume your list will be coming soon?
