Eminem has 6 tracks in the top 10 with Godzilla being the highest at #3, with the Ed duet at #5 and Accommodating at #6

 

Coincidentally, the DigDat/Aitch song is doing very well at #12 and that's called Ei8ht Mile,

which 8 Mile being the famous Eminem movie from back in the day

“Ei8ht Mile” is a U.K. rap/ drill tune based on the film 8 mile, which is a film based on the life of phenomenon Marshall Mathers, known as Eminem. DigDat and Aitch are two U.K. rappers recreating the rap battle scenes from the films, essentially seeing who can rap the best to this tune in a back and forth structure.

It's not 'about' the film but it's a 'rap battle' style track which is an homage to the film (as is the music video).

This weeks chart is going to be very interesting. I'm sure The Box could climb to no1 and will be favourite as he's recently ahead of Future on Spotify but he's doing poorly on downloads.

 

'Godzilla' seems to be doing very well for Eminem, wonder if it's because it's the first new Juice Wrld material since he passed away added to the excitement of new Eminem.

Definitely very close because 'The Box' is now back at #1 there :lol: ('Godzilla' down to #3)

At the risk of wading into a touchy subject, I would say that it would if it were any current rapper or singer ie one that's come to prominence circa 2010 or later, had done so. Because Eminem has been going since the late 90s, he's effectively been "grandfathered" in to current year culture, so can release a controversial song without pulling down his career. Had a rapper released that song on their debut album in 2020? Would torch his career straight away.

I wouldn't be too sure, not when we have rappers who become chart success because of actually committing murder. I genuinely wouldn't put anything past the general public nowadays.
