Omg I love it! But the production is quite 80s, and the first line reminds me kf 80s openings from David Bowie and Jackson or Madonna.

 

Not a fan of the low-budget video though :lol: It has already aged badly today, so imagine in a few years!

 

It's a better lead than Applause or Perfect Illusion, but it is a little basic oops. But it's fun and a bop. It's not as good of a lead as Gypsy or Edge of Glory would have been. Agreed about it sounding very BTW easy pop - and that it even sounds like a less cringy BTW.

It’s definitely very ARTPOP but on the flip side I’ve missed this type of euphoric pop that Gaga has been serving this time ten years ago. This is proof that she’s still got it.

It sounds very 80s Madonna/ 80s Bowie to me, too! Hopefully it's seen as charming and retro rather than reductive, but we'll see. My problem with it is that it already sounds 80s and dated now - and the video is very dated, too. Sooo, how will it age?

The video does its job, but it's really quite basic and uninteresting. She's basically dressed as a Power Ranger and dancing in the desert.

 

Song absolutely bangs though, hoping it smashes properly.

Still love the song. The video is bizarre but I prefer it just being a fun and simple video as opposed to these overblown pretentious things.

Agreed! I like the simplicity of the video. It's playful and vibrant which suits the song to a tee. It may not be high budget but I don't think it looks cheap or tacky.

I don't know if this has already been mentioned, but I've just noticed that Max Martin has a writing credit on the song. Isn't it a first for him & GaGa? He has been Team Katy until now. :o
