Pete's Chart Commentary

As dull as a non-moving Top 5 is, we finally have an end to the Christmas lull with 16 new entries cracking the Top 100 this week! All sorts of artists enter, from ex-one hit wonders to songs found in other people's EOYs to worship songs to another comeback by Kodaline, and I don't have enough time to name them all but yay for some action!

 

Also the drop-outs for Day and Endor mean that there is now absolutely no correlation between my Top 100 and the Official Top 100, yay for mainstreamness etc.

Good to see Kodaline debut high up! Not quite their best but it's a decent enough song, and bodes well for the album to be good.

 

The other new entry I like is 'In Your Eyes' - there's a handful of great dance songs released in 2020 and that's definitely one of them! I keep hearing good things about the Martin Solveig one too so I really must check that out.
