Sam v. Ariana is not even a thing lol

I really like Diamonds but the other singles feel like so long ago now they almost feel like a different album.

 

I really don't think this album will do well at all compared to previous, I'm guessing around 25-30k but could be completely wrong.

 

Lack of Vinyl I don't think helps either.

I thought I heard 20 songs but nevertheless, very excited... it’s looks we might get it sooner than later

Yeh they said 20 songs for the album but they have 100s of songs written overall

Sam will be signing copies of this album across 5 HMV stores... In April!

 

I’m guessing these were probably planned for release week but restrictions wouldn’t allow them to go ahead.

I have no idea how this album will sell. I’m thinking around 40k perhaps?

40k seems like a good bet. Maybe 33k in a worst-case scenario and 50k best-case. Anyone guessing 80k is on another realm... Sam hasn't had a proper hit since Summer 2019.

The Thrill of it all did over 6M WW with just one hit, Sam really doesn’t need singles to sell an album

Given how the exciting the era looked to be at the beginning with bops like 'Dancing with a Stranger' and 'How Do You Sleep?', this is a really disappointing album. :(

 

'Dance ('Til You Love Someone)' and 'Kids Again' are the only keepers out of the new songs. The rest is sooo dull.

Bit disappointed by this. Love all the singles, but everything else is very forgettable. :mellow:

'Kids Again' is AWFUL

 

'Dance' however is really good! Hit potential.

Hmmm don't think I'll be purchasing from people's reactions I loved Dancing with a stranger and How do you sleep but not liked anything since.

Its a bit dire really...

I think the album is pretty balanced tbh, upbeat when it needs to be, downbeat when it should be, does a great job of being a break up esque album.

 

Dance (Til You Love Someone Else), Another One and For The Lover That I Lost are all great highlights tbh.

It’s a really good album I feel! There are a couple of skips, but other than that, it’s a solid album! I really like Another One, so hopefully that’ll be a single at some point.

 

Diamonds remains the best song tho.

I've enjoyed this a lot more after a second listen. Another One and So Serious are my favourites out of the album tracks.

First listen through happening now for me and I think Dance is my favourite (got that Disclosure like production we've come to expect from Guy), and as an opener Young is fantastic. All the singles we know at the end is a nice way to finish

 

Love the album. Shame it won't be a number one.

Contrary to some comments here, I think that this is a pretty good album - certainly enjoying it more than the last one.

 

“Kids Again” is an odd third single choice given that post-album singles rarely do well nowadays. I would’ve gone with “So Serious”, which sounds like Sam’s old stuff (e.g., “Nirvanna”).
