Yeah.. this era is done

Sam has stated that they want this album to be over quickly. Touring will not start for a while so Sam has time to do a whole other album. If you listen to the interview with Roz and Mocha, Sam stated that they want to quickly get another album out but on tour, they will still sing some of these songs from Love Goes. Rehashing an old relationship has to be difficult so Sam is looking to move on, not hard to understand.

Their already in the studio making new music

That's a really good achievement! I totally didn't see it achieving gold when it was first released.

God, I pray this goes platinum when all said & done, it’s gonna be while

Really hope that Dance will become single!

Same. I know it's been said before that this era appears to be finished but what a waste if this doesn't get to storm the airwaves

People.. pronouns: They/Them
It would be an absolute waste not to give Dance a push! What a song! It's probably my favourite song by Sam. :o

Dancing with a Stranger" is now certified 2x Platinum in the UK.

While the pandemic made it impossible for Sam to tour around their acclaimed, third studio album, they thrilled fans with an exclusive concert, live-streamed from London’s Abbey Road Studios. Now, fans can re-live that special evening through Love Goes: Live At Abbey Road Studios, available on March 19.

Love Goes: Live At Abbey Road Studios captures Smith’s sole concert of 2020, as well as their only performance of songs from Love Goes. Backed by a full band, Smith’s intimate-13-song set includes “Diamonds,” “Promises,” and “Kids Again,” as well as the multi-platinum hit “Dancing With A Stranger.” Two special guests are also featured during the set: rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer Labrinth, for a performance of “Love Goes,” as well as by British actress Jade Anouka, who joins Smith on “My Oasis.” In addition to their latest material, Smith also performs fan favorites like “Lay Me Down” and “Stay With Me,” as well a stunning cover of Cyndi Lauper’s classic ballad, “Time After Time.”

Sam has just passed 30m album sales worldwide: https://www.musicweek.com/talent/read/sam-s...um-sales/083159

Not sure how they've worked that out because the three albums have not sold an average of 10m each.

Streams... hence why Ariana is nearing an amazing 50m units despite her more or less decent pure sales

Regardless, Sam consistent career is great to see and I hope their success continues

The 30m units of albums isn’t out of the realm of possibility, Sam has literally sold over 50m CERTIFIED single/tracks units in the USA alone.

Ariana has nothing to do with this conversation, can you cut out the salt pls x

Calm Down.. pls

I was just making an point, Ariana has an very successful career with streaming taking over & pure sells pretty much an non factor in today’s climate, Liam point of being up sells is pretty much irrelevant considering it’s the not main consumption for music

Edited by Yog

The sales Liam is referring to definitely include streams, there's no way anyone is selling 30 million pure albums this century other than maybe Adele.

You bringing up Ariana completely unprompted is just you continuing to be salty that she denied Sam the #1 album months ago. Let it go. x

I don’t say Sam’s 30m album units were all pure sales lol, and I literally have no problem with Ariana at the slightest and neither does Sam considering they congratulated Ari, why are you trying to pick an fight with me? I’m so confused 💀

I had no intention of malice with my previous comment, I have all of her albums..lol

Update: I edited my previous post, so there’s no more confusion...

“Love Goes” sold over 4.5M units WW

According to MusicNews interviewing an staff member of Universal Music UK

“The pandemic meant we had to work the campaign supporting the album in a different way. For example, Sam spent hours upon hours on remote interviews and performances. They actually were able to cover more promotion and countries than they would have been able to do if they had to visit them in person. The campaign had such incredible moments with Diamonds being No.1 on the German airplay chart for three weeks and being No.1 on the European airplay chart for seven weeks. The album has sold over 4.5m [equivalent] to date.”
