It's been a while, but here's the first chart of 2020! Taking a bit of a format revision this year to reflect the lower amount of time I have free to allocate to these unfortunately thanks to a combination of work responsibilities and health issues. (yay :lol: ) These will be roughly monthly through 2020 if nothing changes, which is something I should be able to commit to. (& I don't want to suddenly disappear :'))

Genre-wise a broad raft has hit me so far this year. I've particularly enjoyed pastel pop with a harder edge, which you can see elements of in the three #1s so far. This is looking to be a successful second year in a row for Kim Petras with a stellar pop run, gaining her second #1 this week and looking like she might take her third in Feb as I work through her current and back catalogue. Billie Eilish's back catalogue is pretty good too - her debut album was ok but it didn't strike me as anything I hadn't seen before on most tracks. /sacrilege

BJSC fans will notice a few here, as well as my own first entry this year there's two others from the current contest in the top 20. In terms of long-runners, Dua Lipa's Don't Start Now continues a record breaking run even into this week of Feb. That included 5 weeks non-consec at #1 and no week out of the top 20 yet.

I might fine-tune the format of this post as the week goes on. You'll see we also have some new playlists at the bottom too - Mattias inspired me to create a retro playlist which as you'll see this week features a lot of Britney. Enjoy exploring those. xo
