I am shocked at how genuinely great this looks. I really hope they don't drop the ball, but this gave me vibes of the first SAW movie. I'm very, VERY intrigued by this now. Can't wait!

It was ...okay. it felt a bit formulaic and I can't take to Chris Rock's sense of humour. There was a theme there that could have been explored and delved into so much deeper!

Its not terrible by any means and I think critics are doing too much, it's fine and enjoyable, just not the elevated version I thought it could/would've been.

It definitely felt more like it was at least trying to take itself more seriously and be more 'SAW 1' & 'Se7en' than it was the "torture porn" of the last 5 movies in the franchise. It relied far less on the traps this time around which felt refreshing. I agree that the topic of the story could have been a bit stronger and executed a lot better, but for what it's worth, I think this was a decent way in trying to reboot such a stale franchise and put it's own spin on it.

If they are to do a sequel, I'd like the story to be a bit meatier and not shy away so much, but in terms of the traps/the "torture porn" aspect, I thought this handled all that perfectly. Not too many but just as grim as the traps before them. A nice balance.

Chris Rock's voice grates on me though. I just cannot take him seriously!

I was shocked to learn that Saw only had 50% on RT! I thought it'd be 80+! I guess the Saw films will never fully resonate with critics.
