personally I think she's the best singer-songwriter out there right now, she has a very particular way of story-telling nobody else has, very unique imho

I really like Kyoto, but not much else on the album did much for me unfortunately

Kyoto is her only upbeat number oj the album, the rest is mostly sad depressing songs, but that's the kinda music that I like :D

Kyoto was the big single off the album clearly as I think it was pushed twice on radio 1?

fwiw the songs I love off the album ive probably listened to more than the album itself! I do think the more subdued tracks reveal themselves over time though, right now I'm head over heels for "moon song" which I paid no attention to on my first listen

Kyoto is one of the song of the year, soooo good! I love the whole album though, it does really work as a whole but that's not at the expense of there being big highlights to pick out too.

her cover of Iris with Maggie Rogers is in at #57!!!!! They were also #1 on the sales chart I believe (28K done in 1 day at bandcamp)... great achievement as the song isn't available too stream

Gave this a listen and I am very pleasantly surprised. She has such a beautiful way of story telling.

 

This lyric really struck a chord with me and i've been singing it to myself long after finishing the album: "And when I grow up, I'm gonna look up, from my phone and see my life and it's gonna be just like my recurring dream" ~ I don't even fully know what it all means but I know I feel it too! :lol:
