May 2, 20205 yr I’m excited to hear this. A bit shocked an album is coming as soon as this summer though! Should still be an easy #1 this week though with healthy sales.
May 3, 20205 yr 2nd day Spotify 1. Toosie Slide 9. Chicago Freestyle (feat. Giveon) 12. Pain 1993 (with Playboi Carti) 23. Not You Too (feat. Chris Brown) 24. Time Flies 29. Desires (with Future) 30. Demons (feat. Fivio Foreign & Sosa Geek) 32. War 36. When To Say When 39. D4L (Future, Drake & Young Thug) 40. Landed 44. Deep Pockets 55. Losses 58. From Florida With Love Big changes in the order (massive drop for Deep Pockets in particular) so favourites are beginning to emerge. Massive yes at Chicago Freestyle climbing up to be the 2nd highest track!
May 3, 20205 yr This is his best work in years - “Toosie Slide”, “Pain”, and “Chicago” are all great tracks. Very surprised that I enjoyed this, but it’s nice to see Drake step out of his comfort zone a little and experiment with more drill and cloud rap elements.
May 3, 20205 yr Interesting to note that 'War' is doing much better in the UK than the US - even Drake can't popularise UK drill in the US  (although 'Demons' is doing a bit better, assuming that one is also a drill style track based on the features, it'll be cool to see Fivio Foreign getting a charting song, he seems to be essentially a slightly more palatable version of Pop Smoke). THE SCOTTS also already reclaimed #1 on US Spotify surprisingly.
May 4, 20205 yr 3rd day Spotify 1. Toosie Slide 9. Chicago Freestyle (feat. Giveon) 14. Pain 1993 (with Playboi Carti) 27. Time Flies 34. Not You Too (feat. Chris Brown) 38. Desires (with Future) 39. War 40. Demons (feat. Fivio Foreign & Sosa Geek) 43. When To Say When 49. Landed 50. D4L (Future, Drake & Young Thug) 56. Deep Pockets 74. From Florida With Love 75. Losses Big fan of 'Time Flies' climbing above 'Not You Too'.
May 5, 20205 yr THE SCOTTS also already reclaimed #1 on US Spotify surprisingly. Actually, Savage was #1 before that combined.
May 5, 20205 yr 4th day Spotify 1. Toosie Slide 13. Chicago Freestyle (feat. Giveon) 21. Pain 1993 (with Playboi Carti) 38. Time Flies 43. Not You Too (feat. Chris Brown) 45. Desires (with Future) 48. War 52. Demons (feat. Fivio Foreign & Sosa Geek) 61. When To Say When 65. D4L (Future, Drake & Young Thug) 67. Landed 75. Deep Pockets 90. From Florida With Love 95. Losses Big gap between the top 3 and the rest. They might be the only 3 left in the top 50 tomorrow the way it's going.
May 6, 20205 yr This is actually facing strong competition from Kenny Chesney for the #1 album in the US this week, oops
May 6, 20205 yr This is actually facing strong competition from Kenny Chesney for the #1 album in the US this week, oops Never even heard of him  ~ 5th day Spotify 1. Toosie Slide 19. Chicago Freestyle (feat. Giveon) 32. Pain 1993 (with Playboi Carti) 48. Time Flies 60. Desires (with Future) 62. Not You Too (feat. Chris Brown) 63. War 69. Demons (feat. Fivio Foreign & Sosa Geek) 83. When To Say When 84. D4L (Future, Drake & Young Thug) 88. Landed 111. Deep Pockets 125. From Florida With Love 135. Losses Only 4 tracks left in the top 50. Can Pain 1993 hold on for the whole week?
May 6, 20205 yr This has only 3 songs in the US top 20 on Spotify, it's not doing over 200k unless the Apple Music streams are something phenomenal. Shame we can't get numbers from there.
May 6, 20205 yr It is being predicted for 235-245k on Hits Daily Double (Kenny Chesney predicted for 225-235k).
May 6, 20205 yr Lil Uzi Vert opened with 288k and he had 6 songs in top 20 on Spotify still on Thursday in the tracking week and two in top 3. I assume the Spotify/AM share is about the same for Drake and Lil Uzi Vert, so 235k seems a lot for Drake. Maybe he has more pure sales though.
May 6, 20205 yr The pure sales projection for Drake is 19-21k, which would be about double what Uzi did first week but it's fairly negligible at that level. I think Drake just has really huge numbers on Apple.
May 7, 20205 yr I have just given this a listen and while I didn't really think anything stood out as being especially bad (though there were a few rather boring songs on there, looking at 'Not You Too', 'Losses' and sadly 'Pain 1993' which I don't really understand the hype for even ignoring Carti's part) there were equally few songs that stood out as being particularly good, it's for the most part very consistently 6-6.5/10 stuff. Perfectly listenable but not really songs that I'm itching to hear again. I'll stand behind 'Toosie Slide' being a bop and probably still the best song on there, the other standouts are 'Time Flies' and 'Demons', and to some extent 'War'. There are a few more that could maybe grow to be standout tracks if I gave them a few more listens ('Deep Pockets', 'When To Say When', 'From Florida With Love') but for now they're sitting in the 'just listenable' pile with everything else I didn't mention in this post. x Then again it is literally just a collection of throwaways and leaks so I'll take what I can get from it and just hope for more standout songs on his actual album.
May 7, 20205 yr 'Demons' and 'War' are the two main keepers on this. The mixtape ends brilliantly with those two.
May 7, 20205 yr 6th day Spotify 2. Toosie Slide 22. Chicago Freestyle (feat. Giveon) 42. Pain 1993 (with Playboi Carti) 66. Time Flies 79. Desires (with Future) 80. War 85. Not You Too (feat. Chris Brown) 91. Demons (feat. Fivio Foreign & Sosa Geek) 119. D4L (Future, Drake & Young Thug) 123. When To Say When 126. Landed 159. Deep Pockets 173. From Florida With Love XXX. Losses Losses becomes the first song on the mixtape to drop completely out of the top 200 on only the 6th day.
May 7, 20205 yr I calculated approx. 80M streamson Spotify in the US for the first week (estimate as the Thursday numbers come tomorrow).
May 8, 20205 yr He’s gotten himself his 3rd UK #1 album with this today! Still haven’t listened in full lol but I definitely will over the weekend.
May 8, 20205 yr HDD is now projecting Kenny Chesney actually is going to beat this to #1 in the US - it's extremely close so Billboard might still go either way but that's quite an oof if this is going to end up not actually hitting #1 for him after he had a flawless record of #1 debuts since 'Thank Me Later' (excluding the 'So Far Gone' streaming release from last year). Will certainly seem a bit odd if this ends up being a #1 in the UK but not the US!
