Peter Rabbit has been pushed further back to January 2021 now too!

Apparently could be coz Trump is GOD AWFUL and not helping out the US at all so they don't think they'll be up and running in time for some bug Summer releases! Ugh.

Most summer movies are going to get pushed back to who knows when, 2021 is looking pretty busy, all the movies that are scheduled for 2021 are going to get pushed into 2022 at this rate.
The 2021 films need to actually be filmed which isn’t currently being done in order to be released! Most things are likely to just be pushed back a year, forgetting that 2020 ever happened

We starting to get some dates now!:

Spongebob: Sponge on the Run - July 31st

A Quiet Place 2 - September 4th

Top Gun: Maverick - December 23rd

Greyhound is also off the schedule

Tomorrow War off the schedule

Wicked off the schedule for the 750th time

Peter Rabbit 2 - January 2021

Fatherhood - 15th January 2021

Minions 2 - July 2 2021

Sing 2- Christmas 2021

(also from last post, Venom 2 was never officially announced for October 2021 but was heavily rumoured to be the spot of 'untitled film' haha)

Artemis Fowl is apparently going straight to Disney+. Totally the right call there, because I think this was going to completely bomb at the box office based on the last trailer I saw for it. I can see New Mutants going the same way tbh.

Marvel films are also being shifted back as follows:

Black Widow - November 6th 2020

The Eternals - February 12th 2021

Shang-Chi - May 7th 2021

Dr Strange 2 - November 5th 2021

Thor 4 - February 18th 2022

Mulan is now coming out on July 24th 2020, which has pushed Jungle Cruise back a year until July 31st 2021.

Candyman to 25th September and The French Dispatch to 16th October also announced tonight!

And in extra Disney/fox stuff: Free Guy on 11Th December and Bob’s Burgers April 9th 2021 - the only four films not to receive new dates are new mutants, antlers, the woman in the window and David copperfield (latter just US obvs). Supposedly new mutants can’t go straight to Disney+ as HBO or someone has the rights til 2022.

Knew Artemis fowl would end up on Disney+ 😂 that Mulan date seems v optimistic

Loads of films getting new dates rn 😮

Thank God we have release dates for Mulan and Black Widow and I'm really happy they didn't go straight to Disney+.

At least we have some news on a lot of these titles now. I wonder if Mulan is as soon as July because China are starting to find their feet again?

In the UK, yeah, but I'm really not sure the US are ready! 'Tenet' has been pushed back to August and there is a heavy rumour that 'Mulan' is looking likely to be pushed back again!

America is a MESS! :(

I wish these studios just wised up and put them on streaming instead seeing as they could be getting loads of money by releasing them rent-only on there for the price of maybe 2-3 cinema tickets (because most people will not be renting them alone). They should have gone ahead with that like 3 months ago and it seems only a handful of studios saw the opportunity. Being scared of illegal downloads is silly because most people that download are going to download the movies as soon as they can no matter whether they are released in the cinema or online.
There’s a looooot more money in cinemas still than in VoD/streaming unless a streaming site like Netflix bought it matching the cost price and some profit (which ain’t happening with a film with as big a budget as Mulan). Trolls: World Tour was released to buy/rent without a cinema release and, at best, it may make a small profit but some believe it won’t break even.

Yeah. Plus it's about keeping the film industry and cinemas alive at this point (which is why Nolan is adamant on 'Tenet' being the first major new blockbuster to be released at the cinema!)

Cinema chains (I'm not sure where they're currently at now with it) but a few of the bigger chains are boycotting Warner Brothers (I think it's them who have Trolls icr ) due to them releasing Trolls 2 on demand! So that could majorly impact 'Fast & Furious' for example, who rely so much on box office takings! (Iirc)
