Great first weekend result! Especially considering how adult dramas have been struggling since Covid and Ridley's last movie only made about 5 million in it's first weekend last month.

“Gucci” has been one of the most anticipated films of the season. Ridley Scott’s retelling of murder within the Italian fashion family gained much of its advance interest from Lady Gaga’s involvement. In only her second lead role, she seems to have proven star appeal. Reaction, both critically and initial audience response, has been all over the map. Its Saturday gross had the same relative showing to its opening day as did the enthusiastically received “Knives,” suggesting a promising future for the film.

Box Office U.K.

#1 House Of Gucci: $3,4 million (4 days)

#2 Ghostbusters: $2,9 million

#3 Encanto: $2,4 million (4 days)

The searches for Gucci are increasing of the 73% each week since the first movie premiere, but a total of +272% for Gucci bags.

I saw it, it was the mystery movie!!!!! :cheeseblock:

First thoughts: Gaga was great, the whole cast was phenomenal!! It didn't feel long at all, in fact some of the scenes were very short and there could have been way more of Gaga in some of them. I actually think she had a "bigger" role in ASIB.

Debuts at #1 at the Dutch box office, with 545.533 euro made. Which is pretty good, considering a lot of the Sunday viewings had to be cancelled due to new Covid restrictions.
That's good... however, will there be any possibilities to see the movie now? Damn you Covid!

There are, showing are allowed up to 17 o'clock, which will be a struggle as most people watch movies in the evening (especially during the week), and also have to keep a distance in the cinema, so they can't sell all the tickets. The box office will crash this week, but Gucci is still being played quite a bit, compared to other movies, after it's first weekend success so it should at least keep on making more money.
