Posted November 24, 200618 yr Noel: Robbie will top himself By JACQUI SWIFT November 24, 2006 OASIS star Noel Gallagher has predicted his troubled rival Robbie Williams will SHOOT himself and offered to help him load the gun. In an exclusive interview, Noel was asked by Sun readers to choose who he would aim at if he had a gun with only one bullet: Phil Collins or former Take That singer Robbie. The guitarist and songwriter, 39 who has had a long-time feud with Robbie said: I dont give a f*** about Phil Collins. I wouldnt shoot him. I do think hes a bit of a knob, though. As for Robbie, Id put the bullet in the gun as hes eventually going to do it himself as he is a grossly unhappy person. Noels pop at Robbie, 32 who has been dogged by depression comes in a tongue-in-cheek Q&A session in our award-winning Something For The Weekend section today. The Oasis chat also includes a rare interview with singer Liam, 34. He directs his scorn at his older brother, saying: Noels getting weirder the older he gets especially as hes coming to 40. I bet hell have a yellow f*****g Ferrari next. Noel hits back: Liam needs to go to anger management classes and get some manners. The bands banter comes as their new best-of album Stop The Clocks battles with Westlife for this weeks No 1 spot.
November 24, 200618 yr Author It's pretty sick of Noel to do this just for promo for their new album <_< he has crossed a line here and I hope Robbie responds to this. :arrr:
November 24, 200618 yr This story is all over the Web with headlines such as 'Noel offers to help Robbie commit suicide'. I think there will be repercussions from this. He has crossed a line, yes. But then Noel also said years ago that he hoped Damon Albarn would catch AIDS, didn't he? :puke2:
November 24, 200618 yr Author This story is all over the Web with headlines such as 'Noel offers to help Robbie commit suicide'. I think there will be repercussions from this. He has crossed a line, yes. But then Noel also said years ago that he hoped Damon Albarn would catch AIDS, didn't he? :puke2: yes, he did. I seriously doubt he hates Robbie that much and if he does then the man needs serious help. Even if it was just meant to be a joke it was completelly out of order.
November 24, 200618 yr Saying it about somebody 'normal' is bad enough but saying it about someone with a long history of mental health problems is, I say again, a bit sick. :puke2:
November 24, 200618 yr Jups - I dont like your turn of phrase "long history of mental problems"! A little tact goes a long way Edited November 24, 200618 yr by LizzieSarah
November 24, 200618 yr I have to say despite the ongoing "feud" between Oasis and Rob I didn't mind the Gallaghers much so far, sometimes I even found them quite amusing. But that latest comment just goes too far, it's absolutely disgusting, no matter if it was tongue in cheek or not. :puke2:
November 24, 200618 yr Problem with the Gallaghers is that is that their tirade of comments boil down to professional jealousy and that jealousy unfortunately manifests itself in the worst possible way. Edited November 24, 200618 yr by LizzieSarah
November 24, 200618 yr I'm taking it with a pinch of salt as it's from The Sun but if it's true then that's WAY out of order. :puke2:
November 24, 200618 yr Jups - I dont like your turn of phrase "long history of mental problems"! A little tact goes a long way Err, but he has. He has suffered from manic depression for years. He has even been on a Stephen Fry documentary a few weeks ago talking about his battles with depression going back years and years. It's something Robbie himself has never tried to hide. Plus alcoholism, drug addiction. He is the first to say he can never be cured. It's just a case of managing his various problems as best he can. How would you phrase it Lizziesarah? That's why I'm more annoyed this time than before. Noel has chosen to attack a quite obvious health issue. Depression is an illness. And having had a close relative who has battled against depression for years I know how it can effect people and how devastating an illness it can be. It's totally different from attacking someone's music or singing ability. Robbie seems to be in an OK place at this point in his life. He tells everyone he's happier than he has been in years and I so hope this is the case. I just hope reading such trashy comments from Noel Gallagher doesn't upset him too much and he treats them with the contempt they deserve.
November 24, 200618 yr I just think that people should be more tactful when talking about those with the problem of depression
November 24, 200618 yr Jupiter I do however acknowledge that your comments were well meant and in support of Rob Edited November 24, 200618 yr by LizzieSarah
November 24, 200618 yr Author The more I think about this the more I get annoyed. Who the **** does Noel think he is?? I mean when the hell was the last time he had a proper conversation with Rob? Probebly about 10 + years ago, so what gives him the right to make such horrible comments about him being 'Grossly unhappy'. As Jup said, Robbie has admitted he is happier now than he has been in a very long time. Noel does'nt even bloody know Rob anymore. Noel should just shut his big mouth
November 24, 200618 yr It's getting him what he wanted though isn't it? Loads of publicity. Oh and apparently he's on Parkinson this Saturday. Thought Parky would have been far too uncool for Noel.
November 24, 200618 yr Author Hmm, Parky should be interesting. Wonder if Parky will bring this up
November 24, 200618 yr Well, he really should but he's such an a***licker that I bet he steers well clear. <_<
November 24, 200618 yr Here are some Comments on the story from the Sun's Website. http://www.thesun.co.uk/mysun/comment/list...prev¤t=15 I tried to register to post a comment but they don't seem to have activated my account. <_<
November 24, 200618 yr Been checking. Nothing there. :( Maybe they've been inundated with irate Robbie fans trying to register.
