I wouldn't worry to much, I feel like it's going to come back in a big way post-Christmas! If Ari's team works to get a video done and start promo for it in January, it would be a very smart move.

The album has risen to #14 today in the mids, great to see it 5 places higher than in the Monday ones already! Snatch that projected 4th top 10 week Ari :D

 

Hope there'll be news of a vinyl release in the not too distant future.

Yep Ariana is now up to #11 in the album mids today so top 10 tomorrow is looking good - fantastic! She's in a great position where her album can sell off the back of multiple hits already, as much as I'd love to see some promo for this era too.

 

My collection is suffering also :lol: and a shame they abandoned vinyl singles this era! Although not complaining about how cheap the CD single was.

I don't think I've commented on the album itself in here since my first listen (where it already exceeded my low expectations); I'm pleased to say that it's continuing grow strength to strength! I'm not sure where I'd place it in my Ariana album rank yet, but it's definitely coming across as her most consistent and authentic album to date - I mentioned before that it seems to be the album she always wanted to make. I might be alone on this one but I've picked up on some slightly Madonna-'Erotica' vibes across the album. There's the obvious comparison regarding themes but the casual vibe, the jazzy instrumentation and the humour felt very reminiscent.

The album definitely feels like it's designed to be best enjoyed as a complete listen, but there's a handful of songs here that I'd return to individually!

While positions didn't make it to my top 3 Ariana projects, there are several songs like pov and safety net that are contenders to be top 15 of her discography. Pov in particular which I want to call her best song but am waiting for enough time to pass before making hasty judgements.

That ranking Liam *.* great taste. 'my hair' and 'positions' are still getting better and better for me right now <3

On sales only she was #45 on the albums though.

 

I hope pov helps to push the albums physical sales (tbh I think it’s more the closure of non essential shops too I hope and think that when HMV stores open again her sales will boost as I don’t think she’s the type of artist who’d sell a lot in supermarkets :lol: ).

Does anyone know how much this has sold to date? It must be on 50k+ now so a short road to silver awaits!

Does anyone think physical sales will boost the next few weeks for this album when non essential shops (mainly HMV) open?

 

Could be a good stocking filler for people buying gifts for younger family members.

I hope so! Both Ariana and Little Mix jump out as female acts in the current top 40 with a lot of young fans.

 

A vinyl release and ‘pov’ as a single to keep it going in the new year please!

The album will probably keep slipping away as it's doing poorly on pure sales at a time when the sales market is increasing, but it's holding up rather well in term of chart units. It should easily bounce back into the Top 10 in January. It would be the perfect time to push another single as it could put the album back in the Top 3.
