January 30, 20214 yr Half of Twitter are saying this will win and the other half are saying it will be bottom five!? It sounds like credible, classy and well performed jury bait to me but I don’t see it lighting up the televote. And it’s going to need to grow on me.
January 30, 20214 yr And it’s top of the betting odds :o I like it but it’s absolute jury fodder, can see it doing a North Macedonia 2019.

And it’s going to need to grow on me. Definitely a marmite entry - I think I had two tweets of this exact kind on top of each other in my feed just now! There's definitely something special about it in almost a Salvador-esque way (and y'all know I am NOT a massive fan of that song) that there hasn't been in a French entry for quite some time and I think you're right to say this is pure jury bait at a minimum.
January 30, 20214 yr Salvador certainly captured the public’s imagination in 2017 but I would imagine that after the year we’ve had, the fun escapism of entries that could go viral on TikTok are going to do way better on the televote than the ballads. I don’t rule this out doing well though, it could get a decent televote position and will obviously smash with the jury.
January 30, 20214 yr That whole selection was pretty poor in comparison to the gone too soon Destination Eurovision and was a SLOG to get through. So an apt winner really.
January 30, 20214 yr Yeah this really did go on forever and the production did feel pretty low value. I was positively surprised by the quality overall though, as I expected it to be a really huge dive from Destination Eurovision.
January 31, 20214 yr I'm on board, those things she's doing with her voice are lovely. Definitely expect this to be picked up on as the jury favourite as it draws closer to the time.
February 1, 20214 yr Author This is getting a result as good as Patricia Kaas as a minimum surely? Personally I enjoy this a lot more, and with it being an early fave it will surely have a much more favourable running order than poor Patricia did at the hands of the random draw. France can be one of the countries thankful for the 2020 cancellation, avoiding a potential bottom 5 and now having a potential top 5 result on their hands instead
February 5, 20214 yr This is an absolute masterpiece imo and I've literally just heard it once. Beautiful
February 9, 20214 yr just heard for the first time and think this will do well! This is classically French and something that I think juries and the public might eat up! It's not that often we get an entry sounding like this and this sounds a bit more contemporary than Salvador or Patricia Kaas. I'm impressed on first listen and it has a big climax to it! One to watch for France! Also I don't agree that the public will not go for the ballads this year, often those songs are timeless and sound good whenever so they're less en vogue than some of the upbeat crazier entries which can go in and out of popularity.
February 22, 20214 yr This song has something special, the emotion Barbara is carrying through the song is beautiful, the lyrics are basically about giving her whole naked self to the stage and asking for the love of the public because she doesn’t love herself. Really beautiful!
May 17, 20214 yr I think France television considers to win and pushs Voila wherever it's possible. I'm watching TV 5 Monde Europe for years and this is the first time France is promoting its Eurovision entry there. Edited May 17, 20214 yr by Monzo
May 18, 20214 yr ^haven't you noticed the chorus of “Voilà” shares a rhythm close to Edith Piaf's Padam Padam? -_- LfmguyDRBwU
