27. Calvin Harris - Acceptable In The 80's 95 points

28. Kaiser Chiefs - Ruby 95 points

29. The Fray - How To Save A Life 94 points

30. Justin Timberlake - What Goes Around... Comes Around 90 points

It's a shame to see The Fray unable to make top 20 at least. Such a powerful song from 2007. We also lose one of Calvin's earliest hits. We also lose a couple more indie/rock hits.

24. Timbaland Presents One Republic - Apologize 103 points
25. Hellogoodbye - Here (In Your Arms) 100 points

Amazing result for Hellogoodbye! :o Bagging 100 points and finishing top 25 ahead of a lot of more remembered songs. We also lose some big hits from Timbaland/OneRepublic and Fergie here. A couple more indie/rock hits fall out too. I always thought 'The Pretender' was more early/mid 00's than 2007 oops.

Kicking off the top 20 is JoJo and my personal favourite from her - 'Too Little Too Late'. It finishes three place higher than her debut single in the 2004 results. This track would've been a worthy qualifier in my opinion. Mika is next up with his breakthrough single 'Grace Kelly'. I'm actually shocked it is this popular on here. :o

We lose Gwen Stefani's final entry of the decade here - #18 is far too high for this effort from her in my opinion but it was a massive hit... her highest-peaking solo hit in fact! I'm shocked 'Perfect (Exceeder)' has managed to finish this high!

16. Kate Nash - Foundations 128 points

15. Timbaland feat. Keri Hilson & DOE - The Way I Are143 points

At #16 we lose Kate Nash's one and only hit. It definitely fit the music landscape of 2007 but feels very dated now. I never really choose to listen to it lol. At #15 is a song I've never liked and am astonished it has managed top 15. :o Thank God it isn't top 10! :kink:

14. Avril Lavigne - Girlfriend 144 points

I sensed Avril would do well in this heat. :D Avril has two entries in this heat and it is the biggest hit of the two - 'Girlfriend' - which ranks lowest! :o To be honest her follow-up is the superior song. :kink: Will Avril be able to get a second qualifier into the final rate?

13. Fergie - Big Girls Don't Cry 146 points

Shocked! :o :o I thought this would be a shoe-in for the top 10! This was definitely Fergie's best chance of getting a solo qualifier but it was clearly not to be. :(

This has done amazingly - as I expected - but I was really hoping and predicting it to be top 10. :drama: :( So close!

11. Take That - Rule The World 152 points

It is Take That who finish at the dreaded position for this heat! It is a lot better than their #23 position for 'Patience' and their even lower position for 'Shine' but sadly it doesn't finish in one of the qualifying spots. The track is actually tied with tenth place on points but rules are rules. :P Take That still have a chance tomorrow with 'Greatest Day'.

In alphabetical order, the top 10 songs from 2000 making it through to the final rate are:

Amy Winehouse - Rehab

Avril Lavigne - When You're Gone

Britney Spears - Gimme More

Freemasons feat. Bailey Tzuke - Uninvited

Girls Aloud - Call The Shots

Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love

Nelly Furtado - Say It Right

Rihanna feat. Jay-Z - Umbrella

Robyn with Kleerup - With Every Heartbeat

Sugababes - About You Now

This is my first time seeing these results! :o Sugababes now have FIVE qualifiers, Britney gets her fourth one, Girls Aloud bag their third one, Avril and Nelly Furtado get their second ones and the rest get their first! Fantastic to see 'Bleeding Love', 'Umbrella', 'Rehab' and 'Uninvited' qualify. This qualifiers list is VERY strong. I think this may be the first all-female qualifiers list also (in terms of lead artist)?

Join yours truly tomorrow as I countdown the 2008 results. :cheer: They will commence at 7pm! In the meantime feel free to share your opinions on these results.

I can reveal that once again the #11 of today's heat is just ONE point from making the top 10. :drama: Find out later. :kink:

First let's reveal the six songs that received zero points.

Scouting For Girls – Elvis Ain’t Dead

Sugababes – Girls

Will.i.am featuring Cheryl Cole – Heartbreaker

Usher – Love In This Club

Akon – Right Now (Na Na Na)

Ironik – Stay With Me (Everybody’s Free)

51-69

51. Noah & The Whale – 5 Years Time 45 points

52. Chris Brown – Forever 43 points

53. Girls Aloud – Can’t Speak French 41 points

54. T.I. feat. Rihanna – Live Your Life 38 points

55. Pussycat Dolls – When I Grow Up 37 points

56. Jennifer Hudson – Spotlight 32 points

57. Madonna – Give It 2 Me 31 points

58. David Jordan – Sun Goes Down 29 points

59. Basshunter – All I Ever Wanted 28 points

60. Lupe Fiasco feat. Matthew Santos – Superstar 28 points

61. Madcon – Beggin’ 25 points

62. Kid Rock – All Summer Long 25 points

63. Gym Class Heroes feat. The-Dream – Cookie Jar 25 points

64. Take That – Greatest Day 25 points

65. Ne-Yo – Miss Independent 15 points

66. The X Factor Finalists – Hero 12 points

67. Scouting For Girls – Heartbeat 9 points

68. Taio Cruz – Come On Girl 9 points

69. Chris Brown – With You 6 points

First off it's a shock that nobody was here for the Sugababes' 'Girls' which is part of the zero points club - especially since five of their singles have qualified! In the bottom section of the songs that actually did receive points, Chris Brown's 'With You' is bottom of the pile. I honestly think it would rank a lot higher if he didn't turn out to be so despicable - the same can be said for 'Forever' which lands at #52. We last saw Take That yesterday being one spot away from the top 10; today they crash out at a very low #64. Ne-Yo continues to finish low in these heat results but he still has his big hit 'Closer' to come. Elsewhere, we lose the amazing 'Beggin'' far too soon. Basshunter loses his first of two entries today - as do Madonna and Girls Aloud (the latter I'm very shocked to see so soon).

41-50

41. Rihanna – Take A Bow 66 points

42. Flo Rida feat. T-Pain – Low 62 points

43. Kanye West – Love Lockdown 59 points

44. The Ting Tings – Shut Up And Let Me Go 59 points

45. Wiley – Wearing My Rolex 58 points

46. Nickelback – Rockstar 58 points

47. Ne-Yo – Closer 56 points

48. Madonna feat. Justin Timberlake – 4 Minutes 48 points

49. Mint Royale – Singin’ In The Rain 46 points

50. Alexandra Burke – Hallelujah 45 points

Kicking off the top 50 is the biggest-selling song of 2008 - 'Hallelujah'. Perhaps Alexandra will have more luck in tomorrow's heat? We also lose Madonna's final entry of today - that is quite a poor result for her after the success she experienced in the 2005 and 2006 heats. Ne-Yo loses his final entry of the year while Rihanna loses her second of FOUR songs featured today. We also lose some big hits from 2008 - 'Low' and 'Rockstar'.
