July 1, 20205 yr Author Out of those qualifiers I'm most shocked about Alphabeat, Sam Sparro and GJP making it through. :o They all seem very forgotten about compared to the songs that reached between 11 and 20. Britney now has 6 qualifiers! :o Also fitting to see Katy Perry make the final rate - I don't know whether she features in the 2009 list so this is likely to be her only appearance. I associate her with the noughties as much as I do the tens so it's good she's made it in. I expect Gaga domination tomorrow. :drama: Seriously, if she gets all 4 of her entries into the top 10... maybe we should have capped the songs as two per artist each heat.
July 1, 20205 yr I still hear Sam Sparro on radio a lot especially on Scott Mills show so I hardly would say that is forgotten by the public. The other two maybe. None are massively forgotten here either.. Not that I see anyway! Very strong list of qualifiers there. 'Don't Stop The Music' was the proper turning point of me starting to like Rihanna excluding TAB which was a quick step back in the wrong direction until 'Disturbia' picked it up again so good that's top 10! July 2, 20205 yr Welcome to 2009 everyone :cheer: First will start with songs that no one cared to even give them a pitty point!!! "The Climb" Joe McElderry 0 "Beat Again" JLS 0 "The Official BBC Children in Need Medley" Peter Kay's Animated All Star Band 0 "You Are Not Alone" The X Factor Finalists 2009 0 "Dead and Gone" T.I. featuring Justin Timberlake 0 "Beautiful" Akon featuring Kardinal Offishall and Colby O'Donis 0 'Dead and Gone' deserved better :cheeseblock: Joe McElderry coronation single 'The Climb' didn't get any point but that wasn't a case with Miley Cyrus version!!!
July 2, 20205 yr #69-#61: Eb-Vfe61W6A 61 "Never Leave You" Tinchy Stryder featuring Amelle 19 62 "Right Round" Flo Rida featuring Kesha 16 63 "Just Can't Get Enough" The Saturdays 16 64 "Everybody in Love" JLS 14 65 "T-Shirt" Shontelle 14 66 "Take Me Back" Tinchy Stryder featuring Taio Cruz 13 67 "Oopsy Daisy" Chipmunk 9 68 "Break Your Heart" Taio Cruz 4 69 "Whatcha Say" Jason Derulo 3 In this batch we loose five #1's ("Break Your Heart", "Oopsy Daisy", "Everybody in Love", "Right Round", "Never Leave You") and the rest peaked Top 3 (except Shontelle peak #6). All those #1's are really not memorable :kink: although I thought 'Right Round' was massive in 2009...I love Break Your Heart and was surprised to see that it got as low as only 4 points (I gave three points ).
July 2, 20205 yr #60-#51: RPV8c3Q4D8U 51 "We Made You" Eminem 33 52 "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" Beyoncé 29 53 "Breathe Slow" Alesha Dixon 28 54 "Mama Do" Pixie Lott 26 55 "Let It Rock" Kevin Rudolf featuring Lil Wayne 26 56 "Haven't Met You Yet" Michael Buble 24 57 "What About Now" Westlife" 22 58 "Boys & Girls" Pixie Lott 21 59 "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)" Pitbull 21 60 "Kiss Me Thru The Phone" Soulja Boy Tellem featuring Sammie 20 We say bye to both tracks from legendary Pixie Lott :kink:. Some other big names, Beyonce, Eminem and Michael Buble leave early as well.
July 2, 20205 yr #50-#41: 8SFT8k5chO8 41 "Don't Upset the Rhythm (Go Baby Go)" The Noisettes 53 42 "Love Sex Magic" Ciara featuring Justin Timberlake 48 43 "The Climb" Miley Cyrus 47 44 "Run This Town" Jay Z featuring Rihanna and Kanye West 46 45 "Supernova" Mr Hudson featuring Kanye West 45 46 "I'm Yours" Jason Mraz 43 47 "Bodies" Robbie Williams 43 48 "Down" Jay Sean featuring Lil Wayne 39 49 "Number 1" Tinchy Stryder featuring N-Dubz 35 50 "Holiday" Dizzee Rascal 33 I find some bops in this group leaving too early Jay Sean, Jay-Z, Ciara and my favorite The Noisettes :snif:. Miley's 'The Climb' managed to accumulate 47 points compare to Joe McElderry!!!
July 2, 20205 yr #40-#36: _wjFahULCK8 36 "Bad Boys" Alexandra Burke featuring Flo Rida 63 37 "Issues" The Saturdays 62 38 "Shake It" Metro Station 61 39 "Knock You Down" Keri Hilson featuring Kanye West and Ne-Yo 55 40 "Happy" Leona Lewis 55 Top 40 starts with Leona Lewis 'Happy' I personally don't even know how that songs go but at least she has two other songs in the final 'Bleeding Love' and 'Run'. Keri Hilson one and only song in this game finishes #39 with 55 points which of course they all came from Jonjo :kink: but still that wasn't quiet enough to send her to the finals!!!. Metro Station debut UK single finishes at #38. I think it is a good result overall for them. We also say bye to Alexandra Burke. 'Bad Boys' appears to be not so loved in BJ.
July 2, 20205 yr #35-#31: QsZlY0Vz4-o 31 "Empire State of Mind" Jay-Z featuring Alicia Keys 87 32 "Day 'n' Nite" Kid Cudi vs. Crookers 84 33 "Not Fair" Lily Allen 81 34 "Red" Daniel Merriweather 78 35 "She Wolf" Shakira 69 In this group we lose some big names. Empire State Of Mind is such an anthem, I expected it was going to finish higher but it seems like #31 is a number that Alicia Keys is the farthest she could get in this game :kink: with 'Fallin'", "No One" and this all finishing #31. Quiet a coincidence!!!
July 2, 20205 yr #30-#26: JlxByc0-V40 26 "Fire" Kasabian 102 27 "Boom Boom Pow" The Black Eyed Peas 101 28 "Tik Tok" Kesha 94 29 "Sweet Dreams" Beyoncé 93 30 "Evacuate the Dancefloor" Cascada 87 where is the taste Buzzjack? Some amazing bops we lose in this group. Cascada, Beyonce, Kesha and BEP are all certified bops!!! Lucky for Beyonce and BEP since they still have more songs in this heat coming up.
July 2, 20205 yr #25-#21: xMVTKOoy1uk 21 "Bonkers" Dizzee Rascal and Armand Van Helden 112 22 "In for the Kill" La Roux 107 23 "Sexy Chick" David Guetta featuring Akon 106 24 "Broken Strings" James Morrison featuring Nelly Furtado 105 25 "Omen" The Prodigy 103 I am really happy to see 'Omen' get as high as #25. Of course I would have loved to finish even higher but good result whatsoever. To my surprise James Morrison and Nelly Furtado duet have done exceptionally well because I really did not imagine being that liked here in BJ. 'Sexy Chick' issa bop and Guetta has another song coming up soon. So does La Roux!!!
July 2, 20205 yr Here are the 20 songs that finished Top 20 and will fight for a spot in final: A.R. Rahman & The Pussycat Dolls "Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny)" Agnes "Release Me" Beyoncé "Halo" Calvin Harris "I'm Not Alone" Cheryl Cole "Fight for This Love" David Guetta featuring Kelly Rowland "When Love Takes Over" Kelly Clarkson "My Life Would Suck Without You" La Roux "Bulletproof" Lady Gaga "Bad Romance" Lady Gaga "Paparazzi" Lady Gaga "Poker Face" Lady Gaga featuring Colby O'Donis "Just Dance" Lily Allen "The Fear" Little Boots "Remedy" Rihanna "Russian Roulette" Taylor Swift "Love Story" Temper Trap "Sweet Disposition" The Black Eyed Peas "I Gotta Feeling" The Black Eyed Peas "Meet Me Halfway" The Veronicas "Untouched" All four Gaga songs are still in the game but will they all manage to qualify for the finals?!!!
July 2, 20205 yr #20 Little Boots "Remedy" 114 McdqerXrwXE Little Boots starts the top 20 with her one and only true hit 'Remedy'. I always knew Little Boots was a BJ darling but I personally don't find the song that good, especially listening to it now it just sounds little outdated. #19 The Black Eyed Peas "I Gotta Feeling" 123 uSD4vsh1zDA I Gotta Feelin' might be BEP biggest song but in this heat it finishes below 'Meet Me Halfway'. I don't know what happened here but I think this deserved to qualify to the finals, it's such a undeniably huge anthem!!!
July 2, 20205 yr #18 The Black Eyed Peas "Meet Me Halfway" 124 I7HahVwYpwo And this is The E.N.D.(:kink:) for BEP!!! I think they were robbed a place in the final in this heat :snif: #17 Agnes "Release Me" 126 keYXzDh5JEQ Buzzjack did dirrty on Agnes :kink: she ends up #17 after being Top 10 halfway through!!!. Then in last 14 sets of votes no one pointed her except the last set where she got the top points, but that was just enough to bring her back to Top 20.
July 2, 20205 yr #16 Taylor Swift "Love Story" 131 8xg3vE8Ie_E Taylor Swift big breakthrough hit 'Love Story' finishes #16. I think it did exceptionally well considering she doesn't do country any longer. At least she finished higher than any Kanye West song ever did :kink: #15 Cheryl Cole "Fight for This Love" 153 4umc87T5UMs Now this one I thought it has enough fans to take her all the way to the Top 10 and considering the fact that Girls Aloud managed to send three song in the final!!!. But UK sweetheart ends up #15 and this was also in and out of top 10 from time to time, as every other song you'll see from now and on. It was a tight race for that precious #10!!!
July 2, 20205 yr #14 Temper Trap "Sweet Disposition" 158 4C8e7nNLZNs Now this caught me off the guard when I was adding scores. I have no memories of this song at all and I had to listen to it out of curiosity. And then of course I knew the song but I never knew who sang it. Amazing results for these guys  and almost dethroned one of the four Gaga songs #13 A.R. Rahman & The Pussycat Dolls "Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny)" 162 Yc5OyXmHD0w :drama: How close THIS to finish in Top 10!!! Huge song for the huge movie. I know PCD has two songs in the final but I wouldn't have mind three :kink:!!!!
July 2, 20205 yr #12 La Roux "Bulletproof" 175 Kk8eJh4i8Lo Bulletproof proves to be bigger song than 'In For The Kill' and finishes #12...only 6 points shy of #10 Well done to them for putting up a fight though!!! And now we will find out who will end up at unlucky #11 :kink:
July 2, 20205 yr #11 Lady Gaga featuring Colby O'Donis "Just Dance" 180 2Abk1jAONjw And here she is!!! Gaga finishes #11 with her debut single 'Just Dance' and she is only 1 point away from #10 :drama:. I mean nothing to be dramatic about it since she actually managed to qualify and send three other songs to the final all from this very same heat :o and no other artists have managed that (Sugababes, Kelly Clarkson, P!nk all managed with two songs each and Britney did that twice in 2004 and in 2008). Well done to Gaga  And here are the Top 10 songs of 2009 going to the big final  Beyoncé "Halo" Calvin Harris "I'm Not Alone" David Guetta featuring Kelly Rowland "When Love Takes Over" Kelly Clarkson "My Life Would Suck Without You" Lady Gaga "Bad Romance" Lady Gaga "Paparazzi" Lady Gaga "Poker Face" Lily Allen "The Fear" Rihanna "Russian Roulette" The Veronicas "Untouched"
July 2, 20205 yr And I've heard that Xmas is coming in July this year :kink: and santa has a nice surprise for us!!! Scene will unwrap the gift later and will let us know what's in that box :kink: stay chuned!!!
July 2, 20205 yr yay for Calvin Harris, David Guetta and Lady Gaga (though I'd have Just Dance over Paparazzi) is there going to be a surprise semi-final then?
