Yes, I heard this at lunch on Mary Anne Hobbs' show. It has a great driving energy to it and features a voice note from SHERELLE at the start- I can really see her influence on it (it GOES.. maybe north of the 160 beats per minute she named her debut EP '160 Down the A406' off), BANGER.

Gotta say that the features on this are all from really exciting DJs (HAAi/Kelly Lee Owens/ SHERELLE). Even though we have to wait until November, I think a classic is incoming..

New single out today called Your Future Looks Different In The Light. It's part of some compilation and not Ultra Truth. Another great techno banger that really goes off at the end.

Another random remix he's dropped recently (that might as well just be another new Daniel Avery track as it sounds nothing like the original song it's remixing). Fantastic once again.

There's also this one for completion although I didn't really care as much for this (I actually like the original song more on this occasion)

Absolutely loving both 'Chaos Energy' and 'Bliss' (not heard 'Higher' yet), I guess there's still going to be a few more dripfed singles with the album still a few months away! (and thanks Kath for the heads up on that other new track as I might have missed it otherwise, doesn't seem to have been posted on any of my normal new music sources)

Ok I think 'Higher' may be instantly my favourite song to date from him?

Why does this album need to still be months away xx

Unfolder is out this week

Some spaces have an undeniable energy to them. Unfold is the most exciting techno event in the UK right now, taking place every other Sunday afternoon at London’s Fold club, a mere stone’s throw away from my studio in Canning Town. There are no announced lineups or set times but instead an ever-growing, dedicated community make the regular pilgrimage to be engulfed in beautifully intense and breathlessly frenetic music. I made this track Unfolder specifically to play during my set earlier this year and it has since become my secret weapon over the summer while also providing a lasting memory of a Sunday well spent.

Another remix from him

It's decent but like with the Rone remix I actually like the original version more oops - finding myself more into Daniel's remixes of songs/artists I've never heard of than his remixes of songs I was already a fan of.

'Your Future Looks Different In The Light' is another massive tune though *.* no missing on the lead artist front this year. (not heard 'Unfolder' yet though, the peril of him releasing so often this year is that I am perpetually behind on his releases oops xx)

The 3rd single from upcoming album is out now. Wall of Sleep with HAAi *.*

Another dreamy banger in the vein of Chaos Energy

I'm still a single behind as per but 'Unfolder', while still good, was a little step back from the insane quality of the rest of his singles so far this year.

But then he came right back with 'Wall Of Sleep' which I need to dig this GIF out for again

Aside I'm just realising after Kath's post in Jade's chart earlier that half of his singles from this year aren't even on the album (only 'Chaos Energy', 'Higher' and 'Wall Of Sleep' are, plus the slightly older 'Lone Swordsman') - I was thinking there aren't gonna be many new songs left by the time the album comes out but yay for having plenty to look forward to still *.*

Wall Of Sleep added to 6 Music's playlist today!

I Would If I Could was also released recently taking a more chilled approach

Not long till the album is out :w00t:

Some nice reviews coming in so far

Loud and Quiet - 9/10

"Avery calls it “a fever dream of a record” and he’s right. It’s also another masterpiece."

https://www.loudandquiet.com/reviews/daniel...ry-ultra-truth/

PopMatters - 9/10

"Avery is known for his technical mastery and way with melody, yet perhaps a sense of balance defines this masterful record."

https://www.popmatters.com/daniel-avery-ultra-truth-review

God Is In The TV - 8/10

"The journey of sounds brings you an ecstatic feeling of boundary-pushing electronics that presents a burning sense of hope."

https://www.godisinthetvzine.co.uk/2022/10/...phantasy-sound/

The Arts Desk - 4/5

"We can hear the interface that came when shoegaze bands like Slowdive, Curve and Lush began collaborating with electronica names, as well as a strong Twin Peaks vibe throughout."

https://theartsdesk.com/new-music/album-dan...ery-ultra-truth

Slant Magazine - 3.5/5

" While Ultra Truth is marked by nostalgia, Avery largely avoids the typical pitfalls of mining the past for inspiration, as he deftly oscillates between gauzy abstraction and straightforward danceability. "

The Guardian chose it as album of the week and The Telegraph gave it 5 stars describing the album as "an hour of wonderfully immersive music, which moves from dancefloor physicality to spiritual meditation with the dexterity – we can confirm – of a true master."

We stan our acclaimed king 💅

Just gave it a listen and it's a lot more ambient than I was expecting, the 3 singles (Wall of Sleep, Higher and Chaos Energy) are definitely the centerpiece bangers
