My fav is Circuit Breaker, together with You Don't Have a Clue

both amazing and show diversity in sound

I wouldn't see Alpha Male or Royksopp Forever, cute but too instrumental

and I wouldn't send another Robyn or Susan for diversity and to avoid a Robyn overkill

They're my favourite two also! ^_^

I'm more keen to show different styles and vocalists - especially as I'll definitely be sending Do It Again and Running To The Sea in the remaining rounds so Robyn and Susanne Sundfør will already have another shot.

Slow to ask for help here... but the next round is lead singles. I have the following options (curse them for not releasing their strongest tracks first!!!)

So Easy

Only This Moment

Happy Up Here

The Drug

Monument (The Inevitable End Version)

I think I'm most likely to go with either Only This Moment or Monument so it would be great if you could let me know which you prefer...

maybe Only the Moment for diversity?

Yeah I think I'm going to go with Only This Moment. It is a bit different (although possibly Circuit Breaker is the one it's most similar to) and I expect everyone else will be sending big hits that Röyksopp will struggle to compete with so may as well give something different a chance.

Monument plz

I SO hope that You Don't Have a Clue gets entered somehow in a free choice one. It's my favourite song of theirs <3

if everybody's going for big songs, maybe the one with Robyn is a better option

Is the male vocalist on 'Only This Moment' one of the members of Röyksopp? The only answer I found is this Amazon review:

1. Only This Moment - 3:42 - good song with vocals by Röyksopp, but no longer by Erlend Oye (Poor Leno, Remind Me). It still has some of the sounds typical of Röyksopp, but with a more pop orientation. In addition to the vocals of Röyksopp, they are beautiful female vocals by Kate Havnevik (sounding like Sheryl Deane in Thrillseekers' Synaesthesia). There is not a lot of music between the lyrics, so that you really feel the song is a radio edit.

I had no idea either of them sing, if so! And now I'm realising 'Circuit Breaker' probably has the same vocalist, but I didn't think about it. I just wondered now because his voice (and the production even) reminded me a lot of Jan Blomqvist, who (a) didn't exist back then and (b) would be a very surprising collab.

yes, well, at least last time I saw them live, one of the 2 guys did sing it

the female vocals on the song are from the fabulous Kate Havnevik

and yes Poor Leno and Remind Me have vocals from one of the guys from Kings of Convenience but don't think he ever sang with Royksopp again.

Yes the male vocals are the band themselves - I think they both contribute vocals to some of their tracks although I'm not at all sure which one does what. I think it only really started on their second album if I recall, most of the male vocals on their debut album are Erlend Øye from Kings of Convenience. I had always assumed that the vocals on Only This Moment were both of them though as they overlap and I think it sounds like two different vocalists?

Their second album has quite a few vocal tracks from them, they moved more and more towards guest vocalists on later albums though.

yes they both sing at gigs

but if I remember it well, at the gig I went to, only one of them did sing in Only the Moment, I remember he had the microphone and was walking around the stage, the one that has darker hair and a bit of beard, by name I never remember who's who in Royksopp :D and then they were joined onstage by the girl that toured with them (Anneli) mid-song.

I really hope I get to see Röyksopp live again some day - I have been once before but I may have been a little slaughtered and probably didn't appreciate it to the extent I could have :kink: Also, even though they're one of my favourite acts, I couldn't tell you their names either!

The next round is: Round 7: Uptempo Songs (Mustn't have made the UK Top 40 singles chart)

Any ideas for what to send? I'm a bit stumped tbh, uptempo isn't something they often do.

You Don't have a Clue

Monument (The Inevitable End Version)

Running to the Sea

I think all of these are upbeat, I mean, they're not ballads

Running to the Sea would be great but I hadn’t really thought of that as upbeat though tbh. A lot of their tracks are just a similar tempo!

Next up is final single from an era. I’m thinking of sending I Had This Thing as it’s a personal fave.

Next up is a non top 40 slow/mid tempo track with the organisers urging us to choose an album track.

I’m thinking of sending You Don’t Have a Clue - hopefully you approve Pav!
