The Worst Albums Of All Time from MSM

As you might be aware, the beginning of last week was dubbed 'Super Monday' by an HMV spokesperson on account of the fact that the Beatles, U2, and Oasis all released albums on the same day.

What misplaced hyperbole that now seems when you consider that this Monday sees the musical event of this or any other century: Peter Andre and Jordan (sorry, Katie Price) release their debut album, entitled A Whole New World.

How Bad Is It Really?

The press release says, "Katie and Peter want this Christmas to be extra special for all the fans that have supported them over the last three years". Come on, what's not to like?

Nope, contrary to what you might think, we're not going to slag it off just for the sake of it. After all, it is for charidee. Think of the little kiddies.

What we are going to do is slag off a load of other albums instead! Yay!

so does anyone own any of these?

Bruce Willis - the return of bruno

Duran duran - Thank you ( the covers album)

Crazy frog - pts Crazy Hits

Mariah Carey - Glitter

David Hasslehoff - Night Rocker

John Lennon + Yoko Ono - Unfinished Music vol 1 : two virgins

Milli Vanilli - Girl you know its true

Naomi Campbell - baby Woman

Paris Hilton - Paris

Rod Stewart - Blondes Have More Fun

Kevin Rowland - My Beauty

William Shatner - the Transformed Man

Never knew about Naomi Campbell :o
I think we're missing out on Cheeky Girls and Fast Food Rockers :P

I own Duran Duran's "Thank You" album.

As for the worst album of all-time - well tune into Sunday's Chart countdown at c.17:15 Hrs, and you will hear that it is #1 in the Album Chart.

As the music critic in the Daily Express said this week about it, "it will make you want to dig out your dusty copy of Duran Duran "Thank You" covers album..." & when reviewing the Peter Andre & Katie Price album "A welcome relief..... not the worst album that I have had to endure in the last week, by a long chalk"

Never knew about Naomi Campbell :o

i posted the video the other week when talking about v $h!tty records made by supermodels, you might find the vid.

Naomi Campbell - I once heard the single - truly fukkin' DIRE!!!

Milli Vanilli - well seeing as how they didn't actually sing or perform on it, it shouldn't really be even classed as their album anyway.....

There are some real stinkers in there, but the worst has got to that damn frog!

I own Mariah (obviously) and Paris. -_-

Personally I think Glitter is one of Mariahs best albums, a lot of people may disagree but I think it's excellent, only 1 track on the entire album that I dislike. :funky:

I used to have Rod Stewart Blondes Have More Fun on cassette. I can't remember it being that bad.

There have been so many godawful albums... I voted for the frog because the production is terrible, the songs are uninspired covers, the album is short, the "artist" is a fictional animation, and the music is just HORRIBLE.

I actually feel bad for Milli Vanilli because there are MANY current popular artists who regularly pull the exact same stunt and no one seems to care. They (and Ashley Simpson) get caught miming but anyone with a half a brain recognizes it at many major concerts, awards shows, sports events, and other performances. What is the difference between a skipping track at a Milli Vanilli concert and a Spice Girls performance at the Brits where the soundtrack is about 1 second ahead of the lipsynching? Give me a break.

You actually bought the Paris Hilton album after slagging her off so much....? :o

Oh no. Someone sent me, so technically I do own it.

It's utter garbage though, in total reflection of Ms Hilton herself. ^_^

DIFFERENCE is Ashlee Simpson mimed to her backing track. It's still her voice. Her singing. Milli Vanilli did not sing their own songs and mimed over somebody elses vocals. So you can hardly compare Ashlee to them

DIFFERENCE is Ashlee Simpson may have mimed but she sings her songs. Milli Vanilli were mimeing over SOMEONES elses vocals - they did not sing their songs. Ashlee Simpson does. So its not exactly fair to label her the same

You're right but... to be honest, I've never heard a live vocal performance of hers that comes even close to that of her album recordings. I won't pick on her alone but so many artists are a dissapointment live and it's a known fact that digital enhancement technology exists. Is that any better than miming someone else's voice? Perhaps, but not much...

Jennifer Lopez may be the worst example, she's never done a tour and very rarely performs live. When she has (VMA's in 2002 or something) her vocal performance was truly ABHORRENT. Makes you wonder where the voice from the album came from...

I understand what you are saying but if your just talking about "pop music" then generally one needs to have a "nice" voice, not a strong voice. And also its oppinion, some people say Courtney Love cant sing, others love the roughness of her voice. Ashlee Simpson does not have a conventionally great voice but it suites her music. Britney Spears is a great example. She has such a weak voice but it suites her music. If she was singing big power ballads or something then she would be shown up.

I hope it wasn't a friend who inflicted it upon you.. If someone did that to me, I doubt they'd be my friend for much longer....

It´s not the fact that they simply mimed, but Milli Vanilli didn´t have any part on the recording. It´s not the same as recording a song and then miming over a playback, it´s much worse and disrespectful.

Didn't Mili Vanilli win a grammy or something for their album? Doesn't that meen people think it was good?? If it wasn't for their mimeing fiasco would it really go down as a bad album?
