Saw a banner on the home page of Spotify advertising James Bay's new single, which will annoyingly probably achieve nothing and they still won't add it to HH. :(

NMF:

1. Calvin Harris & The Weeknd

2. Disclosure & Kelis

3. girl in red (???)

5. Rudimental feat. Anne-Marie & Tion Wayne (no idea who thought this was a good idea)

8. Dua Lipa (Physical Remix)

10. Katy Perry

I assume Blackpink/Selena Gomez isn’t out yet and will be added later

I reckon it's only a matter of time until girl in red blows up, I'm seeing her music all the time on friends' social media!

Good to see Bloxx and Vistas in the NMF top 10 also

Interesting, must admit I’d never heard of her, will give some of her stuff a listen in that case. Also apparently Nines has an album out, and as his songs over the past 2 weeks have done quite well (especially on Apple) I feel he could potentially make a decent impact on the Spotify chart on the first day.

I remember hearing Annie Mac fawning over girl in red when she had the 'hottest record in the world' on her evening show a little while back (for a distinctly mediocre song, as most of her songs have been, might I add x (though her most recent single was a lot better than the ones before it)), a little surprised that she hasn't started getting Radio 1 playlisting yet at least. Doesn't strike me as an artist who will ever have much singles success (unless she is chosen by TikTok lol) but she could probably get some album chart impact.

Odd that Disclosure's actual new single is only song 17 on NMF while an album track is song 2...! Also a Katy album track getting a higher NMF placement than 'Smile' did

I really like Girl in Red and the new song is nice, you gotta love Scandinavian pop girls! NMF now added Blackpink/Selena as track#4

CH/The Weekend-Over Now added to HH but quite lo, they also added Nines-Airplane Mode

on Today's Top Hits, Blackpink/Selena added as track #1 and CH/The Weeknd as track #2,

if only HH added song so high on week 1!!

curious to see how the CH/Weeknd song performs, it's kinda like the definition of an anti-hit, 100% The Weeknd and 0% Calvin

cannot think of a more disappointing release in ages :/

didn't Calvin say he was never gonna release songs below a certain BPM? cos this is like zero BPMs :D

What?

I mean the song doesn't sound like Calvin at all, sounds like another boring song by The Weeknd
I mean I just woke up from a 10 month coma but it's not like The Weeknd has literally the most successful song of 2020, if that were the case (but SURELY it's not), I would hesitate associating him with flopping, but as is..
of course it's gonna be a hit, just cos of name power not cos of song quality
Nines already doing very well on Apple, Katy’s Smile has also taken a big climb over there.

Smile? It's a mediocre song at most by a popstar that is not as popular as she was and has zero Spotify support would be a miracle if it was a hit

I like Katy Perry but Smile was the wrong song to push this summer just before the album

I think he meant Smile by Juice & The Weeknd

That would make more sense

LOL yes. Also it is surprising how Smile is not a hit anywhere with ton of support and it is a good song...
