Posted April 4, 200619 yr did you see buzzcocks? was kenickie any good or is it a good thing she's doing presenting
April 4, 200619 yr Kenickie actually weren't a bad little punky pop band actually, much better than some who were around at the time who were more popular...They never really got the fair shake they deserved to be honest, I reckon that they would've probably been more popular had they been around now... Lauren is a pretty okay presenter though... She did the smart thing, she knew it wasnt gonna last regardless of whether Kenickie had been more successful or not....
April 4, 200619 yr Kenickie were probably one of the first bands I liked :o I remember when I first heard my brother play 'In Your Car' and I liked them from then on. So I thought they were very good and so was Lauren's EP too ^_^ and lets not forget Don't Falter with Mint Royale  I like her as a presenter but I do wish she'd go back to music. :(
April 4, 200619 yr She's definitely better off as a presenter. Radio show aside she just hasn't found the right show yet. Never cared much for any of her music.
April 9, 200619 yr She was totally brillaint on Buzzcocks, probably because she is a presenter so it comes naturally. I do like her voice and reckon she should do the odd guest vocalist deal on tracks but I dont think making music is her passion anymore. Kenickie were darn good...I just think they didnt have much direction and their 2nd album is a bit random but yeah they were cool. She's probably better as a presenter.
April 9, 200619 yr I saw her presenting a special on Buffy The Vampire Slayer once when I was at college, and she was terrible! But her presenting has definitely improved since then. She's great at music-based presenting though. Kenickie were good, and I liked Don't Falter with Mint Royale.
October 14, 200618 yr I rememner that Buffy show! :D Anyway Im just listening to them now...haven't in ages. I think whats good about them is they tought themselves how to play instruments and stuff just because they left school and didn't know what to do...and some of their songs still sound good, PUNKA is a classic.
October 15, 200618 yr Kenickie were great at the time, but I don't think Lauren should consider going back, except for the odd guest vocalist part. She's found her niche in presenting.
October 16, 200618 yr I loved Kenickie back in the day, i thought they were a great indie-pop band. I still have one of their concerts which was aired on R1. I remember they were due to play the Glastonbury Festival in '97, but that was the year they had all that rain and the stage they were due to play on sank.
