'Pure Shores' cements its status as a Buzzjack fave by winning yet another rate. It won the All Saints Singles Rate in both 2015 and 2020, it won the End-of-Year #2 Survivor (and came second in the Ultimate Survivor) and now it's won Buzzjack's Favourite Noughties Single! It scored the most points in the heats round - across all 10 heats - bagging a total of 498 points! Its nearest competitor, Eminem and Dido's 'Stan', was 173 points behind!! I cannot fault the song's win. It is a glorious production courtesy of William Orbit, released as the soundtrack single to the Leonardo DiCaprio-starring The Beach. The song was released in February 2000 and entered the chart at #1 where it stayed for two weeks. It became the girls' fourth UK #1 but inexplicably never charted in the US! It is to this day my favourite All Saints track - the William Orbit dreamy production is what elevates it from a great song to something magnificent!
