Posted August 8, 20204 yr I know I’m probably preaching to the choir on here, but I feel the need to get this off my chest, and I refuse to comment or engage on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc. Lady Gaga does not owe us promotion Lady Gaga does not owe use anything So called “Little Monsters” spent years begging, pleading and, worst of all, harassing the artist that they claim to love for “real” music. Completely disregarding what was up until that point the most deeply personal album of her career. Even to this day, these so called fans continue to publicly mock an album that is literally named after her dead aunt and inspired by her and her family’s pain. Now, in 2020, Gaga finally gives these fans what they claim to want, a true dance pop record. Not a single ballad or acoustic song in sight. And it is truly phenomenal. It’s not just incredible music, but it is also deeply personal. And these fans are happy for about five minutes. But, in the background of all of this, the world is going to shit. We are literally in the midst of a pandemic. The Black Lives Matter movement has hit a crescendo. Economies are crumbling. Entire industries are dying. People in our own countries and abroad are losing jobs and losing lives. Gaga made the decision to pause promo on her album, given all that is going on in the world, as well as her own mental health and whatever other reasons she may have. Are these “fans” grateful for the fact we received this incredible album? That we’ve had two fantastic music videos? That we are still likely to get at least one or two, if not more, singles/videos from this album? No. Instead they whine and complain about Gaga “abandoning” them. About her “forgetting” this album and about the era being “over already.” Firstly, I highly doubt any of these statements are true. I am sure Gaga has a lot planned for this era, probably things she is working on and figuring out right now, given the limitations imposed by lockdown. But secondly, even if this were true. Even if Gaga were done doing anything with Chromatica... that still does not give these “Monsters” the right to spew hate at someone they claim to love. Gaga’s entire message, since day one, has been about love and kindness. That is a message Gaga has tried to convey with this album, along with her pain. And yet they think trying to inflict more pain and hate on her and her fans is the right thing to do? And then have the gall to wonder why she isn’t interacting with her “fans” online? We have already gotten an incredible piece of art this year. You’ve probably gotten countless hours of joy out of listening to it so far, and will get countless more. Why can’t these “fans” be happy with that, and consider anything else a bonus? Because that is how it should be. Gaga is a songwriter and a musician. She has put out incredible work this year. Anything else we get is a wonderful bonus. But it is not owed to us. In fact I don’t consider the people I’m talking about here to be true Monsters. I know it is a small, but incredibly vocal and incredibly toxic minority. August 9, 20204 yr Yess, agree totally! And at the Chromatica party I went on Friday literally ZeRO people said anything about the lack of promotion as they know that the music is there for anyone to listen and it's been successful.
August 9, 20204 yr Also, some artists do promotion all the time performing from wherever on their social media accounts and haven't seen real effects anywhere.
August 10, 20204 yr This is all so very true. These so-called fans, including some people on this very forum, are just the worst and we just know GaGa herself would be deeply ashamed by them. She can whatever she wants and likes, does not owe any of her fans anything. Even if she decided to ignore the whole Chromatica record from tomorrow onwards, that's her prerogative. Especially when we know she deeply cares about the world AND is someone who duffers from several medical conditions. You never know what is going on with her, so complaining about the lack of promotion is simply selfish and ignorant.

August 10, 20204 yr Lady Gaga's job (that she chose) is making music. If she decides to stop, it's her choice. You can quit your job at any point in time, she can too. Dear Adelita, you cannot even provide an argument or your opinion (must I reiterate - OPINION, not a fact which you constantly claim whatever you say to be) without attacking anyone (or more like everyone who doesn't agree with you :') ) so unless you have something constructive to contribute it's indeed best for you to stay out of this topic. There are plenty of people with whom the majority of Buzzjackers don't agree but they don't act like we are the third reich over here.
