Numayania National Thread 3.0

Numayania (n:) a state of conspicuousness, clearly seen by the naked eye and the open mind, from the Urdu "numaya". From BJSC 54 to 126, near-founder-members Numayania were conspicuous by their absence from the BJSC final but now they are BACK, and we intend to keep it that way. Nah but seriously thank you for welcoming me back and helping me get there

Would love to know what you thought of some of my potentials! Is the world ready for a K-pop Numayania I wonder?

News from Numayania is that the internal selectionis down to two candidates:

ALEX Feat. RA - Broadway

or

Regulus Red - All For Himself

Personally prefer All for Himself because of the banger moment in the instrumental break ;)

Thank you :D

I have one more potential, but it's a French language ballad, I think it would be hard sell right now, especially when I want to keep up my qualification streak (of one :kink:)

Originally when I listened to small samples of both of them, I thought go for Broadway as I liked the instrumental but actually its rather boring compared to All For Himself so....

Buzzjack Mountain chooses All For Himself as their preferred potential of Numayania (we hope this country name is pronounced 'numb-a-yania' as that sounds very cool indeed compared to 'noo-ma-yania')

Niouvs Dela Numayanie

After a disappointing 37th finish with Regulus Red in Aeroche, Numayania is back to the drawing board for 128 in Terra Avium and Republique D'Askorza, and wondering which Block we should join

The indie block?

The French block?

The French indie block?

The retro block?

The French retro block?

Or fuck all of that and go old-school Scandipop Numayania?

Guest juries from around Buzzjack world, please provide your knowledgeable opinions on what you want to see from us in this months' contest! Sanq-te!

okay SO i've listened to them all and here's what I think:

- Hyphen Hyphen

- Fanny Anderson

- Bilal Hassani

- MOTHERMARY

These are probably all your best bets! I would say if you're going to go for MOTHERMARY though there's the eeeexcellent "Catch Fire" which has for some reason gone untouched so far and might do even better. Hyphen Hyphen sounds like a Taahino / Cor Lupus hybrid which is a good thing, and Fanny Anderson does sound like a token pop hit - how much of a hit though I can never tell! Not the most Numayania sound ever tho. Bilal is very queer and poppy which is quintessential Numayania so it's the most true to your sound and with it being poppy I'm sure it's a Q at least!

That Jessy song I can't take seriously because it's so famous in Scotland for being a bit of a Buckfast banger in the English version  Really liked that Charlie Dore song, does sound a bit no-hoper though. Nära was nice but a bit nondescript.

I can't say my opinion is knowledgeable as I haven't won in 7 years but I think Hyphen Hyphen and MOTHERMARY are the only ones I would give points to. In that order. The former is especially good. Nära is nice but I agree with Lewwster, it's nondescript and will probably give you a 28th place at best even if it manages to qualify. But what do I know, I'm an old generation trying to keep up with those annoying youths of today.
p.s. you can take Shallou if you want, she's not an elëdan kind of girl anyway xo

Thanks Leww  Wow, Catch Fire is really good. I think the main reason it’s gone unnoticed as yet is Mdiče don’t enter anymore :snif: But it’s definitely worth thinking about. I wouldn’t blame you for sending it  I think I feel like going French this time though. but we’ll see. Funny thing is I think HH reads as queer as Bilal, or at least LGBTQ

Exactly why I value your opinion, we’re the same in that  Thank you so much. I don’t think I’ll be needing Shallou after all, but they’re a band I’ll be looking into going forward :D

Tempted to ignore all of that and go Japanese now though, what do you all think of this?

Hello! I hope it's not too late to give opinions! I do really enjoy Fanny Andersen's Complicated and it's on my chart so obviously I'm biased. Sparkle is not a bad song, with a memorable opening, but I think it becomes much more forgettable the song goes on. Nara has an exceptional buildup in the verses, but I was left somewhat disappointed with an underwhelming chorus. I'm personally not a fan of Regardez-moi and Charlie Dore Time... I love the uniqueness in Like Boys but could sound a bit too aggressive for some. It has got some personality though! Fais le Vide sounds a bit ordinary to me, probably because of the autotune, which is a shame because I really like Bilal's personality! I quite like the style of GIVE IT UP too!

Personally, I would go for Complicated, but GIVE IT UP is also another nice choice!
