Pete's Chart Commentary

The Top 10 contains the same 10 songs as last week, however a lot of shuffling around puts The Knocks at #1, knocking (:basil:) Declan down to #2. This is the second #1 for The Knocks after 2017's 'House Party'.

 

8 new entries in the Top 40, mainly of the indie form, however a few BJSC tracks make it in, the highest being the LÉON track which only got a few points from me but grew throughout the week. Most of the songs I gave high popints to were older and so (as usual) were given a disadvantage - SeeB and St. Lucia are in the low 90s whilst Hante. and Younger Brother just miss out.

That insane chart run for Declan continues to astound me! Is it ever gonna drop out of the top ten?! 'Be An Astronaut' is growing on me too, I'm looking forward to his album finally dropping!

 

Great to see Travis in the top five, they've been one of the most consistent bands for me over the last 20 years, 'Kissing In The Wind' and 'A Ghost' are both brilliant songs, and the new one with Susannah Hoffs is quite nice too - another album I'm very much looking forward to!

 

Bastille for top 3 next week :D
