Posted August 29, 20204 yr The first single from ARTPOP was supposed to be ‘Sexxx Dreams’, but then I wrote ‘Applause’ and I was like “No, this one has to be the single!” - Lady Gaga to Tchami on #GagaRadio Lady Gaga has revealed that the original plans for ARTPOP were for 'Sexxx Dreams' to be the lead single. However, after writing 'Applause' she switched to that. So the question is, which would you rather have had lead the album? Vote in the poll and discuss below :cool:

I find 'Applause' to be a safe song and very radio friendly, but 'Sexxx Dreams' is a STATEMENT and would have started and represented the era much more effectively and explosively. Would it have been a bigger hit? Probably not, but a GUY CAN DREAM xoxo

August 29, 20204 yr Yes loved the iTunes performance! :wub: The beats were stronger, the song had a more mysterious and gloomy look, but instead she wanted to crumble and took it all to the noisy and annoying EDM of ARTPOP. :rolleyes:
