November 30, 20204 yr More people seem to have joined me in hating on Maroon 5 in their last couple of era which have been, for me, probably their most tolerable music (it's still not good but it's at least not as painful on the ears as their older stuff and especially the stuff in the middle). Lol ~ I think The Cure is my mum's favourite band so I have strong childhood memories of some of their songs (particularly 'A Forest'), they're not an act I've gone out of the way to listen to much myself though.
November 30, 20204 yr Blur's Midlife compilation is far better than the Best Of. Erasure and The Cure are obviously great although I haven't listened to any Cure or Erasure albums that have been released in theast 20 years 😀
December 1, 20204 yr The Cure have grown into one of my favourite bands over the past ten years as I’ve watched TOTP from the 1980s, and they only really peaked in 1989-92 eras. Then Robert Smith singing on the recent Gorillaz single and the Glasto headliners last year cemented them as one of my fav bands! Fleetwood Mac, not much else to say other than genius pop band!
December 1, 20204 yr Ahhh i'm so happy Erasure made it, they would've been my 29 pointer. Flawless discography. Edited December 1, 20204 yr by XhannahlongX
December 1, 20204 yr A couple of bands out that I would've given points to have now left - Erasure (14pts) and The Cure (25pts). For both these bands their 80s/early 90s output is amazing. Blur were just outside my points too.

December 1, 20204 yr The Smiths and One Direction level on points! Could only happen on Buzzjack - usually in such a poll, one would be way above the other. Anyway... There Is A Light That Never Goes Out This Charming Man and my third favourite Smiths song is the acoustic version of Back To The Old House from Hatful Of Hollow.
December 1, 20204 yr One Direction THAT low :o that's the biggest shock for me in this countdown so far, I would have bet money on them being in the top ten!! No Doubt and The Smiths both have some great songs in their discography even though I didn't vote for them.
December 1, 20204 yr I forgot all about The Smiths as well as No Doubt when I was wondering who is left. How Soon Is Now is my favourite Smiths song.
December 1, 20204 yr I am pleased that One D are not higher and are not the last remaining boy band. No Doubt to high for my liking they have a handful of hits (if that).
December 1, 20204 yr Surprising One D are so low, thought they would be a BJ fav! The Smiths are amazing though.
December 1, 20204 yr No Doubt are brilliant, completely overlooked them in my votes oops. The Smiths are one of my worst ever bands from the songs I've heard from them, just find them so depressing. Sorry. 1D I gave a few points too as I did like some of their stuff, particularly their 3rd and 4th albums. Zayn, Harry and Niall are great.
December 1, 20204 yr Harry Styles and Niall Horan solo have both had much more consistent output than 1D did as a group. There are only really a small handful of 1D songs that I care for that much. That does include the hot take of 'Little Things' still being their best song for me though. Seconding the love for 'How Soon Is Now?' by The Smiths. I have always hated 'Don't Speak' (again not news to anyone who's paid attention to my posts over the last decade x) but No Doubt's other songs are generally a lot better, also like a lot of Gwen's solo stuff.
December 1, 20204 yr big fan of the Smiths, they have tons of great songs, so many classics my fav is There is a Light That Never Goes Out but they have so many great songs my other big favourites are Girlfriend in a Coma, Panic, This Charming Man and Shoplifters of the World I also like No Doubt, especially Don't Speak for me One Direction is just a joke band orchestrated by Simon Cowell with looks over talent, that sums it up
December 2, 20204 yr I adore The Smiths. So many amazing songs in their back catalogue. Difficult to come up with a definitive top 5 but I'll try. 1. This Charming Man 2. Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now 3. What Difference Does It Make? 4. Still Ill 5. There Is A Light That Never Goes Out Other standouts include 'Ask', 'How Soon Is Now', 'Barbarism Begins At Home' and 'Panic'.

December 2, 20204 yr Black Eyed Peas were in my list of bands where I couldn't decide if they were Top 30 or missed altogether! Glad to see them appear, they had some of the most iconic singles of the 2000s (even though 'I Gotta Feeling' was a tad overplayed and I wouldn't count it in their top five). Was hoping Bananarama would make the Top 20, easily one of my favourite pure pop bands ever! 'Love In The First Degree' and 'I Want You Back' are two of the finest pop songs ever written  Love a bit of Arctic Monkeys although they lost me a little with their latest album. Still can't get over what a phenomenon their debut was, wasn't it the fastest selling debut album ever? Is that record still intact?
