December 13, 20204 yr As much as I like Little Mix and their music, I'm glad they are not top 5. Even top 10 in the grand scheme of things is a bit high. :kink: I love all of the groups left and I can't decide who would make the best winner. Probably Queen because their influence, Freddie's showmanship and their vast collection of songs is incredible. But then ABBA are just a magnificent pop act with well-crafted songs - some of which are timeless or have at least aged beautifully - and the Spice Girls were a rare phenomenon despite not having the strongest back catalogue of songs. It's crazy to imagine growing up in the late 90s/early 00s without their existence. GA and Sugababes would probably be the most "controversial" winners out of the 5 but, again, both groups had a long list of top tier pop tracks.
December 13, 20204 yr Not Little Mix missing the top five :o that's a huge surprise! My revised top five prediction is now: 5 Sugababes 4 Queen 3 ABBA 2 Girls Aloud 1 Spice Girls

December 14, 20204 yr As we all expected! Sugababes definitely deserve a place in the top ten, their output has been pretty consistent for me, even right up until Sweet 7, and they're one of the few girl groups where I quite like a few of their albums, not just singles. 'Taller In More Ways', 'Change' and 'Catfights & Spotlights' are all great listens with hardly a bad song on them. 'About You Now' is probably my favourite Sugababes song, Cathy Dennis at her best  Edited December 14, 20204 yr by M4ngo Ho Ho
December 14, 20204 yr Fair enough position for Sugababes. They really maintained a level of success over a lot of different eras (and line ups!) in a way that many other bands have struggled with. Plus their best material is very strong indeed.
December 14, 20204 yr Sugababes almost have a strong enough discography to make me forget how cringeworthy their name is. Almost. x
December 14, 20204 yr Absolutely love the Sugababes. My favourite run of singles from them is Freak Like Me / Round Round / Stronger / Shape / Hole In The Head. I agree the name Sugababes is a bit cringe but much better than the original "Sugababies". :puke:
December 14, 20204 yr Sugababes almost have a strong enough discography to make me forget how cringeworthy their name is. Almost. x It's no more cringeworthy than most band names tbh. I love the Pet Shop Boys but if you stop to think about it, that's a pretty cringe name for a band. Although I suppose it could have been worse, they could have been called the Fishmonger Boys or the Greengrocer Boys.
December 14, 20204 yr Pet Shop Boys is definitely nowhere near as bad as Sugababes lol. The only other name I can think of that is as bad is Booty Luv. The name Sugababes literally just sounds like an extremely dated out of touch music executive trying to appeal to 'da kidz'. Also I've literally only just realised that it is almost the same name as Spice Girls but slightly changed. Was that intentional I wonder ~
December 14, 20204 yr Yeh I like the Sugababes, sort of took mover from All Saints as a cool or urban pop group with some fantastic pop songs!
December 14, 20204 yr Little Mix is a pretty dire name also. I remember the "reveal" of their new name on X Factor after they had to ditch Rhythmix. I guess it has originality going for it but I think they could have come up with something better. They've become so big now I don't think many stop to think how weird the name sounds for a girl group.
December 14, 20204 yr Love the Sugababes and they have an amazing back catalogue, I think they have been spoilt a bit by lots of rotation in members but still deserving of 5th place definitely
