This comment on Youtube helps explain further the demons she is tackling in the video:

She explained how this song is actually about an antipsychotic medication named olanzapine that saved her life in relation to mental illness (my biggest enemy is me, pop a 911) when she was rushed to the E.R due to a psychotic break. The same thing happened to me and I had to be put on the same exact medication, she stated how her whole body went numb, she could do nothing but scream, it’s terrifying and nobody should ever have to experience a psychotic break, it is absolutely horrifying and indescribable when you’re completely ripped from reality, feeling like you’re trapped in an endless void, you feel like everything is out to hurt or kill you, becoming completely and absolutely emotionally blunted unable to express any feelings, completely dissociated from reality, unable to come to terms with anything around you, completely lost. There is truly nothing more traumatic than a psychotic break. Recovery time is different for everyone, it can take as little as 1 week to over a year. I am just happy I survived and am still alive to inform people and share my experience about this grave and perilous state of mind, to let people know how crucial mental health actually is.

Great video! It really brought the song to life for me.

I fully agree with this. It makes the song make perfect sense through her battle with antipsychotic medication.

The final moments (back in reality) are almost impossible for me to watch through now i've seen it through a few times. The sound of her cries of pain will haunt me if I keep hearing it </3

I am yet to watch the video, but the song reminds me of the PC Music sound or of Charli XCX's PC Music influenced songs. I think it is a good song.

lol what

I just watched it again after reading up about all of the different meanings/symbolism, and it truly is a different viewing experience. I've got chills everywhere.

I hate seeing her cry I just want to protect her OMFGGGGGGGGG

Release 911 single version on iTunes please :cheeseblock: #911iscoming

Exactly this! Watching it again knowing more about the context and how the video ends is an all-together different experience. The plethora of references and subtle moments that return later in haunting ways. I am overwhelmed with how this turned out given the circumstances too! She turned her pain into ART.

I know it's super early to decide, but I can't even begin to think where this slots in a "greatest Gaga music video" list :cheeseblock:

That video reminds me of a high budget version of my favourite Inside Number 9 episode so I am very much a fan *.*
