This single DESERVES to be #1. It’s two months old but still sounds so fresh and is holding on amazingly well.

That new Ed Sheeran track is just so... meh.

The new 59p batch has had a massive effect on iTunes: pray little mix do the right thing on Friday.

What are some of the reasons RCA wouldn’t look to discount this? They must genuinely be out of sync with what’s going on with the charts if they don’t want to take advantage of a potential number 1.. when was the last time a song was on iTunes for 2 months and not discounted?

Lol imagine rca doing good.....

Still at 12 on Spotify

Ed has fallen a spot since yesterday - could SM actually make number 1 next week if they remain stable & discount?

They really need to throw everything into next week and I really hope they do because SM really deserves it!

I definitely think there’s still a chance but i also think RCA will remain clueless and probably not even acknowledge this being a contender for #1 (Until the last day of tracking and they plan a streaming party  )

Don’t the label WANT a number 1 single and/or album? Isn’t that the ultimate goal at all times? Why are they not bothering? What do these people DO all day that they aren’t aware of care that their biggest act needs a small push to achieve this?

Frankly, seeing how RCA managed to miss a #1 album AND a #1 single for weeks now is beyond me.

More bundles, discounts and physicals (for SM) aside, if they had added Sweet Melody to the damned TTH we could've had both #1.

It's annoying seeing both Confetti and Sweet Melody holding so well without any promo or big push... This could've been a Glory Days era 2.0 if their team knew how to plan things.

And... it will be much more frustrating seeing NTFT maybe bigger than Sweet Melody thanks to the proper promo lmao.

Anyways at this point I really think the one album contract rumor is true, it could be the only explanation to ''excuse'' the lack of competence from their team.

They haven't been perfect but I disagree with most of this, I think the promo etc was actually pretty decent and they did add bundles etc...

(Discounted the week running up to Christmas, issued an expanded version with NTFT, discounted after Christmas)

It was clear Jesy had left so they had this to deal with too.

TTH isn't just based on Payola and record labels, I'm sure they would have pushed for it but if Spotify doesn't feel it has Worldwide appeal they can't do anything.

I agree about SM they really need to do something next week to push for that #1 but to be honest I bet the team is on holiday...

They added bundles on announcement day and during preorder but were quite unprepared for the release week battle and had no reaction to Kylie’s team’s moves, which was very frustrating.

I agree but I wouldn't say the whole campaign has been terrible. It was clear from the last minute bundles it was done to generate more profit rather than get the #1 as the bundles were really expensive.

Number 1 albums aren't really all that anyway these days, So I'm just so glad they seem to doing things to give it longevity.

The real test will be next week, If they don't reduce it that will be absolutely ridiculous.

Yeah, I think the overall effort has been good from RCA. Promo? Solid. Formats? Good.

But what they don't do, which other artists do (see Dua's team) is ride the wave of what's happening and reacting to that. Like it never seems like they look at the mids and think "wow; the gap looks small here, we're selling the album at double the price as most of the rest of the top 10 on iTunes, let's discount it and get some more cassettes up in the coming weeks to snatch that #1" or "most singles take good advantage of a discount on specific weeks to snatch a higher peak; let's make sure we do that next week". They kind of do the work that's needed to be done and aren't wiling to to give any extra pushes to get their artists to higher peaks.

Totally agree with this...

They either do nothing or try on the last day of the chart week.

Leigh tried on SM release week to get it top 5 but that was the latter half of the week..

New Bieber song this friday.

SM is never going to catch the #01.

Either is Justin 💀 He won’t even come close, surely?

Who cares about Bieber in 2020?

Look at his streams on Spotify... He's still HUGE.
