Agree with the general consensus that Arvingarna will take the top spot of this heat at a canter. From the last few years it seems that just being a male with a duff song is insufficient to get an automatic pass to the final so I don't think Danny's going higher than Andra Chansen. Beyond that it's hard to predict what might capture the mood of Sweden tomorrow night, Kadiatou could have a breakout hit on her hands but I'm not sure if she can cut it as a performer in a competitive heat, JessAn has one of the better songs in the heat but surely her luck is going to run out soon? My gut instinct says Paul Rey will take that top spot even if the clip makes it sound like not my jam.

Cautious prediction:

DTF: Arvingarna, Paul Rey

AC: Danny, Jessica Anderson

5th: Kadiatou

6th: Nathalie

7th: Lillasyster

Having seen the rehearsal clips I might be alone but I can see Danny flopping and also Paul Rey.

I think Jessica sounds the best by a country mile

PRAYING for an Anton Ewald SMASHA this weekend
Overall I think my biggest takeaway from the first heat was Lena P's fantastic opening performance of her Gloria Gaynor meets Alcazar song. Completely forgot to check out her album last year, so I missed it then but have had it on repeat since. If it had been a contending entry I think it could have got to the final in the old diva schlager slot.

60 Second Clips are out.

Anton: love the sounds of this. Very The Vamps.

Julia Alfrida: also very nice.

WAHL feat. SAMI: fantastic.

Frida Green: huge names attached to this song, it sounds great, but I was underwhelmed.

Eva Rydberg & Ewa Roos: absolutely will have my attention on Saturday.

Patrik Jean: over produced nonsense that will never win, but probably will have a great performance and go DTF.

Dotter: the main event, the clip did not disappoint!

The 1 Minute Clips last week led us to believe that Heat 1 would be weak, but that was far from the truth.

This round of clips sound a lot better in terms of quality.

Not as much to care about with the lack of something like Lillasyster or Arvingarna but the Julia Alfrida song sounds sweet (out of the female pop songs it grabbed my attention the most), and Anton doesn't sound as bad as he normally does. Also kinda living for that pair of older ladies.

"Little Tot" is the best clip so far and the title doesn't sound as bad when sung in context.

Very much expecting that below Dotter winning the heat, 2nd-7th will have the same gender split as last week, but would love Eva & Ewa to throw a surprise as that song is sounding like such joy.

Sounds like a solid heat, I look forward to hearing them all in full, so that's something.

Hopefully Dotter gets the public's support for the second year running, sounds great.

Julia Alfrida's song sounds VERY Royals, especially with the word royal appearing in the lyrics

Rehearsal Clips are out. Exceptionally solid heat. Very impressed.

Dotter/Anton/Wahl & Sami are all sublime.

Patrik and Frida I'm not sold on just yet.

Already being compared to Loreen.

Not by song or performance, but impact and potential.

It could be another Euphoria.

The clips are out, I really hope Charlotte doesn't come 5th (or lower) this time, it seems to sonically borrow from the wonderful Smith & Thell, but with her schlager pizzazz thrown in - love the sound of it

The Mutasch song sounds good too, like a late 90s/early 00s rock hit. Bed On Fire was so good in 2013, one of my favourites, so I had a hunch I might enjoy this more than most rock entries.

Elisa's song sounds very promising to my tastes, with a classic 00s style Melfest melody, but I'm not convinced she'll qualify with it.

Tusse's song is very anthemic, I don't think it's the sort of song I'll be supporting over Dotter personally, but I could certainly imagine it finishing 2nd-4th area in the final.

The others sound good to varying degrees too...looking forward to this heat.

It's so odd you mention Smith & Thell, I just spent the last weekend listening to their album and I got that exact same feeling.

Loving the sound of Elisa and Mustasch in particular, could take or leave most of the rest but Assergard's sounds quite fun at least.

Yes I really wish Melfest would snap them up to participate one year (Goliath could have easily won, for example), but I'm not surprised to hear their influences in the contest either way.

Took a few listens to properly peg it but I can really hear the Goliath influence in Still Young - love it!

Also lowkey into Emil's song in the same chanty sing-a-long way - Heat 3 is usually where the surprise result comes from so my hot take is that Emil's going at least to AC maybe even DTF?

The Performance Clip is just *.*

La Voix meets The Queen (Velvet)

I guess I'm the only one not feeling Charlotte's entry (at least based on the previews) eek.

Klara's song sounds like something I'll for sure add to my playlist lol. It's not a winner but it's quite the bop.

Alvaro's song sounds very millennium Enrique/Marc Anthony lmao.

Tusse sounds very promising. Could certainly prove to be a contender but Dotter does still sound like the better choice.

The other three .. idc.

Will be interesting to see what The Mamas & Eric bring in SF4 because so far there's not a whole lot of songs that I can see being any sort of hindrance to Dotter in terms of both the popular vote AND the jury vote.
