The tempo of this leak feels a little too slow to me. Matching the tempo to the album version makes it sound so much better!

Been away for a while as dealing with a very personal situation but the recent days in Spiceworld and all the leaks have got my attention and have been following all the leaks, which have been incredible to experience. Some of these have been like holy grails of the Spice fandom!

So, I think I have managed to catch them all so far and have included them on the main list. (judging from the posts on Spice Circle, please let me know if I have missed anything!).

Here is what has been added (in order of recent leaks):

Spice Girls - Sugar & Spice (Touch era)

Geri Halliwell - Last Man Standing (Unknown era, though file says 2016, previously unknown)

Spice Girls - Say You'll Be There (demo version with group rap, Spice album era)

Melanie C - Whenever You're Near (Northern Star era demo, previously unknown, leaked TODAY)

Also leaked was the full My Happy Place instrumentals in great quality, as a gift for the leaking of Sugar & Spice and the SYBT Rap demo, as it was promised by a fan collector originally. The same fan also leaked a different early 2 Become 1 demo, a different Love Thing demo as well, both stemming from a Pre-release Spice Sampler that also includes Wannabe and Mama although these are both the normal versions we know of. The interesting thing is that the 2 Become 1 demo sounds a bit more r'n'b (but only a little) and people are speculating that it sounds like a Dave Way mix of it, which could have been when Virgin originally wanted them to have a more American-r'n'b take on the songs. Nonethess, I have included these two demos as well on list as they are technically different from what we had already...

A picture of a demo CD from Geri's Passion era also surfaced, as it apparently got sold recently and is doing the rounds (here) but the music is yet to actually leak. However, I have hadded the titles included in the face of the CD:

Geri - Passion era - Previously rumoured/known about:

Geri's Got Her Groove Back

Disco Sister Music

Gimme Your Love

Geri - Passion era - Previously unknown of:

Pump It Up

Wannabe

It Takes Two

Stand at Attention

Waiting 4 My Man

Sweetest Pain

The Way That Lovers Do

Look Before Leaping

Also rumoured to be making the rounds is a Victoria Beckham demo called Whatever You Want (which has now been confirmed, see post below!). Also, Melody of Life is apparently doing the rounds and might leak soon! On a leaked.cx post, users talk about a donor once trying to sell off some extra GEM songs, but never coming to fruition. Same with some Greatest Hits tracks but no titles are mentioned either.

So that makes it THREE new tracks have leaked completely, plus three different demos of released songs, a full album of instrumentals, plus a bunch of information on previously unheard tracks/versions of tracks/demos. Incredible days in Spiceworld!!

None of these are currently on YouTube, I don't think. The SYBT videos above have been edited by the fan who runs that channel, I believe and I would rather just include links/videos/audios of the real demos, not fan-edited versions.

I don't think we've had this much excitement in Spiceworld in YEARS, so I had to update these lists. Please tell me if I missed anything!

Also rumoured to be making the rounds is a Victoria Beckham demo called Whatever You Want but I have only seen ONE fan mentioning this, and could be very well be an early demo from This Groove (the whatever you want is part of the lyrics of that song) or totally made up. I had to create a new account to post this. Full disclosure since it is a little weird when a new account pops in with info. So no worries if there are skeptics.

Whatever You Want is actually one of two unreleased first album tracks that she did with Gary Barlow in April 2000. These were some of the last recording sessions she had before they brought in new writers and producers to shift from pure pop to R&B influenced pop. The only song recorded between late 1999 and summer 2000 that made the album was IOU.

You referenced my website in your first post (http://spicechronology.atspace.com). It hasn’t been updated in about 20 years. I only made it as a project for a college class, and the pages had their discographies instead. I changed it to what you see since there were a lot of discography sites that were much better than mine. It was just a fun project. I did intend on updating it, but between work and school it just never happened. I had a quick peek, but some things are inaccurate now of course. I still have my binder with database listings, online articles, and some of my own notes that I compiled from the big sources then (Spice Zone, Spice News, dotMusic, Denden, amongst many others). The hyper fixation hits me every couple of years and I go into a deep dive trying to find new info. I’ll see if I’ve got anything to add.

Ok, I’m a bit of an insomniac, so I went down the rabbit hole. These are the only discrepancies that I noticed. I hope this helps some. I’ll try to find the appropriate links from Spice News or other sites, and edit this post accordingly. Most of my publishing info was obtained through ASCAP, APRA, BMI, Warner-Chappell, and Sony Publishing. Apologies in advance for being long-winded.

Spice Girls

All We Need Is A Miracle*

Hard To Kill*

In Your Face*

I’m almost 100% positive these are entirely fan fiction. There’s never been any sign of a publishing entry for any of the known writers that match these titles. Every other rumored title floating around back then had been confirmed by publishing entries by the mid 2000s. Registration numbers match the time frame for the registration numbers of songs we heard in Raw Spice. The rumor is Chris Herbert had plans to release Raw Spice and then follow it up with an album of tracks recorded before they left. He had to get the approval of Virgin and the girls, which they reluctantly agreed to the documentary in order to veto the album. These three songs were included in a track listing posted on Spice Zone. The only time I’ve seen them mentioned outside a fan forum was on a Geocities fan page that no longer exists, and on this page.

Inside Out* - Rumored Spice track. Likely mis-titled. This one is interesting because it was reported on Yahoo and MSN referencing an interview. Both links I have are dead unfortunately. What I do have typed is that it was mentioned in an article about the girls, but not by the girls in 1998. The subject matter was a bit too mature for their audience and it was dropped from consideration after they noticed they had a much younger fan base. Could be Serial Killer based on the description since Feed Your Love was known by this point.

Expose* - Another Spice track. I’m pretty certain this is just a flub translating Naked from English to Japanese then back to English. Seems to stem from an interview in Japanese with a rep from Virgin discussing Spice and its success. The only song mentioned that wasn’t on the album. No mention of the song otherwise outside the fandom.

Walk The Same Line* - I have in my notes this was recorded for the movie and wasn’t considered for the album. Then I’ve just got “Abbey Road” written down with nothing else, so maybe it was recorded at Abbey Road Studios, or it’s another mis-labeled track. Could very well be a line from Seven Days that references Abbey Road/The Beatles.

If Ya Do* (featuring Janet Jackson) - Both this and the rumored band only version are fake. Stems from an interview with Emma prior to Holler/LLLTW where she was asked if there were any artists she’d like to work with and she said Janet. It appeared on a fake track listing a few months before Forever was released called 4Ever which included Holler (as Holler Holler), Right Back At Ya, Oxygen, If You Wanna Have Some Fun, and Woman. Conveniently, the only songs that were known by the fans. The rest of the tracks were just someone being creative.

Get Out Of Your Head

Saturday

Thank You

These confuse me. All GH era tracks. They each appeared on both BMI and Warner’s databases for a short time listing the girls as performers and songwriters. Get Out Of Your Head and Thank You were listed as early as the beginning of 2007, with Saturday not being listed until mid 2007. By 2010 my notes say they disappeared. I’ve not been able to find them on other databases. These might be some of the songs that Simon gathered in preparation for the Greatest Hits. It’s likely they were registered and held for the girls for that period of time and then reverted once they disbanded again. It’s also possible it was an error in the entries and they have nothing to do with these songs.

Emma

Burnt Out and Falling* - If this was recorded by Emma, and that’s a big if, it was during her first album sessions. It was initially reported on the Dotmusic forum as well as Spice News post from January 2001. Allegedly passed on by Virgin in favor of her collaboration with Tin Tin Out, it was recorded by Lisa Scott-Lee, before again being left unreleased for a second time until Lisa’s was released for the deluxe of her album Never or Now a couple years ago.

Mel C

Time Is Up* - This is fake. The primary source was an online article by The Sun. The only mention of it beyond the forums was a Spice News entry. I don’t have a link for the correct month, though. It was said to have been a new track for a MTV Unplugged album that would be released sometime in 2001.

Mel B

I’ve Got My Eye On You* - This is from the same sessions with Biff that gave us Lullaby; before she started working with the American producers. In an interview during the recording of Hot, she mentioned the song title and that it was written in response to the murder of Stephen Lawrence. Virgin felt it was too political, so it was shelved.

In Da House - This was rumored on a few sites, but there wasn’t any evidence that it was anything other than the live performance at the MOBOs. Most of the sources said Mel and Wyclef premiered a “new” song which is sort of true, but it was only an intro to hype up the crowd. I only have sources in my notes that label it as a rumor.

Victoria

Tantrum* (w/ True Steppers) - This started circulating as a rumor shortly before the OOYM release. Jonny Lisners of True Steppers was asked about it and said that he didn’t have a clue. They discussed the possibility working on a second track that would be used for her debut, but nothing happened.

*All of these songs are listed on this site along with a few we already know, and some other unconfirmed rumors. Last edited in 2002, this is a comprehensive list of all the titles circulating when they were an active band.

Hello, guys.

I found this page in Google, while searching for a comprehensive list of all Spice and solo Spice tracks, and decided to create an account to give a little help and ask for another.

Regarding Emma's leaked tracks, we have Everybody Wants to Be from A Girl Like Me era. I think it leaked one or two years ago maybe.

Now my question. In the list above, That's Why It Hurts and In Another Life are said to be from Life in Mono era. But I remember, from back in DenDen, that That's Why It Hurts was listed as a A Girl Like Me outtake and In Another Life, as a Free Me outtake.

Do we have some official confirmation (e.g. from ASCAP pages or even from insiders) to which era each of these tracks truly belongs to?

Thank you both for the info. Will update accordingly!

Also, Melody of Life is finally out there now in full. It's excellent ❤️

EDIT: OMG now Victoria's Whatever You Want is also leaked!! What a crazy few days lol

The list wasn’t entirely accurate when it comes to Emma. There were a lot of songs that were attributed to the Free Me era that were LIM tracks, and vice versa. That’s Why It Hurts could possibly have been demoed during AGLM, but the recording we have comes from sessions for LIM. In Another Life was labeled as a Free Me track, but an insider said it was demoed for what would eventually become LIM. The registration number was much closer to tracks completed for Free Me than the later LIM tracks which is where I believe the confusion comes. I haven’t done a comparison to see if any registrations have been updated, so I can’t confirm 100%.

All these leaks all of a sudden! 🫨 Wild to have Sugar & Spice and Melody of Life after all these years.

I have to wonder… why now? I suppose, why not now… just seems interesting that the floodgates have opened.

Thank you for the explanation!

Saw a post on PJ , the guy who has the May 1998 Spiceworld tour screen footage , still isnt going to leak them even if he got what he wanted, such a shame

I really love Melody of Life, Last Man Standing & Whenever You're Near

I'm really happy to had the chance to listen to thoses tracks.

I can't believe that the Rap version of SYBT was already in our hand, in the VHS for so long time.

I would like to know more too. I saw fans speculating that it could be that Universal is planning to release some but I think that's just fan speculating. I haven't been following the latest Spice gossip so have no idea on that, but it all seems quite quiet right?

I remember that C U Next Tuesday was leaked as a reaction to the girls not releasing anything new/interesting for Spiceworld25, and the fans were pissed off. Certainly the lack of ANY Spice-related activity that is not merch might be pissing fans off to the point that they don't care at all lol

Interestingly, these are Touch songs, so it is possible that Universal might not care for them too much to hassle any fans who leaked them... The only 'big record label' songs that have leaked so far are Mel C's and Victoria's demos from the initial recording sessions of their first albums...

Thank you for clarification. I do think some demos that leaked might have been reworkings from previous albums sessions as it often happens that artists go back to old demos (like the Spices did with Step To Me which was from Spice sessions, as well as Overnight that got demoed in 1995 and 1999...)...

So there might be different demos of the same songs available from different eras and what we got was the corresponding demos from a particular era. I tried to organise it in a way they were framed when they were leaked... But please do let me know if I am wrong and I will aim to ammend.

First of all, thank you for all this. All makes sense to me. I also agree that some of those are mostly fan fiction as they were only found on old SpiceNews threads and fan-made websites that don't show any sources! Nonetheless, those are mostly stated as rumours in the original post but please let me know if I missed anything on there.

About Inside Out - do you have those dead links? Could you search for them on the WayBack Machine website (web.archive.org) and see if you have any leads to the content from there? That archive has millions of old webpages that are not 'live anymore' and could be good to see if they were stored/archived there at all...

Side note but some of the rumours on SpiceNews are so funny, you can just tell that stuff came from the mind of 11 year old fans with big imaginations lol

I think people are running out of things to trade. They’re getting desperate for the things they don’t have and will do/share whatever they can to get what they want. That’s all fine and everything, but the other party has to hold up their end of the deal. Which is probably why it’s so quiet today and nothing has happened. The guy that owns the SW98 shows promised to share some in exchange for unreleased material. People have been sharing what they’ve got to lure him in, and then he flat out says he’s not going to share anything now. So people stop sharing. Fingers crossed it’ll pick up again.

Apologies, I didn’t clarify. The two links I have are to my own website geocities.com/esgd2001, and to a SpiceZone post http://forum.spicezone.com/137.html. The links to Yahoo and MSN would have been on those pages. I did take a look on Wayback and found the forum and site years ago. I think there was only one more version of this forum before it closed and everyone migrated to Denden. Have to laugh at the music video downloads being under 4mb. They still took an eternity to load. What I’ve really been trying to find is the post on there and on Spice News about one of the fake third albums called Open, Hurt, And Close. I can’t remember if it was 1999 or closer to the album release, but I know I’m not crazy. It definitely happened.

Melody of Life is fantastic , pure spice magic was in the making
