I'm wondering if it could do enough next week to pass 3 million in total, before Christmas chart week? It needs to do 98,462 sales.

I don't think so, considering there is no X Factor show this year if there was one it would have easily got to #1 this week 43k is kinda beatable.

I think it depends a LOT on the level of competition. This year the only competition has been Ariana and she was on her way down when Mariah's ascent happened. Last year there was much stronger competition in the form of big songs from Tones and I, Lewis Capaldi, Stormzy, Dua Lipa and Arizona Zervas, so Mariah never got higher than #6 until that New Year chart where Alexa worked her magic.

 

There's also been a notable increase in all Xmas songs this year, perhaps due to lockdowns and COVID, so it's hard to predict next year and further on.

She still hasn’t quite made the sales Number 1, not that it matters all that much I guess! Does anyone know how many downloads she had last week? Surprised that wasn’t in the report.

Last time I checked, the official chart gets broadcast on Radio 1 and not the streaming chart. :P Mariah's ACR status means she won't be making #1 every year (it infamously stopped her in 2018 and 2019).

We've ALL gone there, bought a "Mariah for #1" t-shirt, came back, went there again to check Ava Max's pulse and came back again already. Just get over it.

I am more than happy with the current two weeks at Number 1 but would greatly welcome the Christmas Number 1 and blocking the awful Ladboy song.

Given that Ladbaby has likely already outsold Mariah's total from last week, I'd say that there was zero chance I'm afraid.
