Apple has a pretty significant effect, perhaps not as much as Spotify but still quite noticeable, especially as 100% of its streams are premium, due to it having no free platform. I think it could boil down to whether Oh Santa! has been allowed an ACR reset or not...!

Yeh if it continues to rise on Apple and stabilises plus the decent iTunes sales it could be top 40 on Friday!

The charts are basically entirely dominated by the same genre of music for the first 11 months of the year. The Christmas Invasion is almost refreshing.

Looking at the top 20 non-Xmas songs in the chart right now that Joseph posted there is a grand total of one rap song in the top 10 and, being extremely liberal in defining rap music, 7 in the top 20. Such domination!!!

I don't understand this logic. Charts are meant to rank songs by popularity and reflect data. It's not designed for entertainment and to be "exciting".

Mariah pretty much has #1 in the bag this week but Wham! seem to be edging close to her on Spotify by the day. I guess they’re too far behind her on other platforms to have a chance of #1 next week? That would be a dream scenario for me as

I love both songs.

They're different version so it doesn't really matter, but its interesting that combining the 2 biggest versions of Let It Snow makes it quite comfortably the 3rd biggest Xmas song on Spotify. I'm sure there's loads of examples of multiple versions that one just stood out to be cause they're both really high
